BalkanCruiser Posted June 14, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted June 14, 2014 Per person. Thank you. Such a high charge offsets the low cost of the cruise some what but it is still good value.
Rare steamboats Posted June 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2014 BalkanCruiser, Not sure what you regard as high but Costa is within the range of all other mass market cruise companies which charge up to 12 Dollar/night. steamboats

They 'charge' 3.95 pounds sterling per passenger per day. Very cheap compared to Costa's 'charge' of over 8 Euro per passenger per day. But and it is a big but the cost of a comparable cruise and cabin is very approximately twice that of Costa's. Rare steamboats Posted June 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2014 P&O is more or less exclusivly focused on the British market although they do sell in other countries too (but not that much). Brits are not used to tip. P&O didn´t have a service charge at all prior to 2012. Now they do have a pretty moderate one. But there was an uproar of the loyal customers. But compare: Celebrity 12 Dollar Costa 8 Euro / 11 Dollar (2015 8.50 Euro/11.50 Dollar) Cunard 11.50 Dollar Disney 12 Dollar HAL 11.50 Dollar MSC 7 Euro (winter 2014: 8.50 Euro) NCL 12 Dollar Princess 10.50 Dollar RCI 12 Dollar Suites are higher. steamboats
