You are correct in assuming your room was smaller:). The regular balcony cabins on M Class are 170 sqft and the AQ/CC are 195 sqft. All balcony cabins on S Class (reg, CC & AQ) are 195 sqft.

Your experience and what I have noticed is why we never book Select. Our table is waiting for us and not the other way around lol The sommelier watches for us to arrive and is at our table within minutes. The wait staff are less rushed as everyone is pretty much on the same course and they are not having to serve desserts to some and entrees to others. Much less hustle and bustle with tables being turned and people coming and going all the time. Just look over the railing and see how calm it is with only the waiters moving efficiently between their few tables. That is one of the reasons we book early to make sure we get our preferred seating.

Enjoying your review.

What were your select dining times? I'm curious to determine if they were peak times, but also also interested in knowing if there were times where there was a smaller line.

I've been on three cruises with Celebrity with select dining on each and have waited only one time. The first night on the second leg of my B2B this past January saw a brief three or four minute wait. Maybe I'm the exception! LOL!

Sorry to hear that your experience was less than adequate.

Thanks again for your review.

Great review so far. I will be on the summit for the first time in 3 weeks(sailed 8 times on NCL) in a cc cabin on deck 7. Love they still do the welcome drinks NCL stopped them a few years ago and they are a nice touch. We are also doing select dinning and would like to know how early you went to dinner to have to wait that long.

Great review V LA V.

We had the cabin next to yours , 6026, when we cruised the S Caribbean on the Summit March '13 .

We loved the cabin and the depth of the balcony was useful depending of whether we wanted full sun or not.

There had been a recent refurb when we sailed and they eliminated the reclining lounges for the balconies.

We also had select dining and had made reservations for 3 nights. We were very very happy we did. (Thanx CC).

The other nights there was a wait . One night we were told it was going to be 45 -55 minutes  so we used it as an excuse to try the Bistro on 5. Turned out fine.

I can tell that I am really going to enjoy your review! My husband and I will be sailing July 13th on the Summit in a sweet 16 room (6024). This cruise is to celebrate my 30th birthday. I am anxiously awaiting the rest of your picture report! It has been a great start!

I'm sure you will enjoy this cabin . We tried to get a reclining lounge but we were told they were all gone.

Still it is a very large space.

I knew it seemed smaller! Glad it's confirmed for sure. I have to say that even with our select issues, I would still book it over traditional at least for Bermuda when we can come and go off the boat as we please and can be a bit more spontaneous. Our favorite seat at dinner actually was looking over the railing. I think there are more tables for two up in select, at least from what we could see. We also had somewhat of a bad experience when we had traditional seating on our honeymoon. We were at a table for two, but it really wasn't because it was crammed between two other tables. The table next to us had two couples that fought during so many of the dinners that it became like a horrible live nightly talk show  I should have requested a different table, but we were new to cruising and I didn't think of it! Thanks so much for your clarification of room sizes!

Hi Bruce and Kayhil3,

We were kind of all over the place with the dinner timing, which was why we liked the idea of select. The first night when the line was so long we didn't go to dinner until around 8 or 8:30. I think the excessive line was probably due to the delayed sail away. The other night when it was longest we went around 8. I had made reservations ahead of time online for the first at sea day which turned out really great. The reservation was for 7:30 I think. The only bad thing about that was I didn't print off the reservation thinking it would be laid out on our bed upon arrival. It wasn't, and I couldn't remember when our reservations were! Luckily they were in the system and the helpful Maître d' was able to look it up. That was the only reservation I made ahead of time. When we did call on the ship to get reservations for other evenings including the second formal night, we could only do before 6:00 or after 8:30. We ended up going with the earlier reservations and it was fine. We did wait a bit, but nothing longer than 10 minutes. I did notice the non-reservation line was very long on second formal night. One night we went in at almost 9:15pm with no reservation and didn't have a problem. We were seated right away. I hope that helps!

My favorite balconies on M class - sweet 16 - had 6035 twice - loved it.

Can you tell me if solarium pool was heated and were the sea rough going to Bermuda and back. Loved your review.

thank you.

Never having had a sweet 16 cabin, I have a question:

Did you experience movement due to rough seas?

We had a few very rough nights on our last TA on Infinity. We were at the stern, in a FV cabin.

I was told that movement was worse in bows, where I believe the sweet 16s are located, as the weight of the engine keeps the stern more stable.

I really wished I had kept our original mid- ships cabin.

Hi Isabella and Upwarduk,

The T-pool felt heated to me and it was the only pool that didn't get drained due to big waves. It was very relaxing! Rough seas? YES! It was pretty bad, although I don't think it was any worse in our cabin compared to anywhere else on the boat. It seemed like everyone everywhere was feeling it. I will say the casino was the worst. I think looking at all the spinning lights and colors did not help my swimming head. I had to leave. I'll be writing more about that in my installment tonight ;)

DH & I will be celebrating a major milestone anniversary in 2015. We honeymooned in Bermuda! A cruise there on the Summit to celebrate would be ideal- hopefully our adult kids and families could join us. Time to start planning!

Hi All,

I'm so appreciative for the great feedback and questions! You are a very attentive audience, something this middle school teacher can really appreciate ;) I am very glad to be starting off my summer vacation by writing about our great trip. Working on the next installment now, but wanted to post the dailies from our embarkation day.

That is great, congrats! Planning is part of the fun, at least I think.

At Sea

Our first day at sea! We ordered room service breakfast via a door hanger menu that can be found in the leather-bound info book in the stateroom. Too bad I don’t have a pic. The free choices are somewhat limited. The tag has to be hung by 2am in order to have breakfast delivered. We opted for scrambled eggs (the only other egg option is a plain omelette), cantaloupe, croissants, bacon, corned beef hash, and coffee. We had chosen the window of 9:00-9:30 for delivery and it came a few minutes before 9, which was great with us. We enjoyed breakfast on our giant balcony and were especially happy with the coffee (I had heard such bad things about it!), the croissants, and the very crispy bacon. The eggs were awful, inedible in fact. Not hot and they were runny. That was our only complaint. DH liked the corned beef hash.

We got ready and headed out for the CC Connections party, which was held in the Revelations Lounge at 10am. We paused outside the door to hear the Captain’s daily address. This one was a bit yikes because he mentioned that the waves would be picking up within the hour. I *think* he mentioned 10-15 ft. swells. Does that seem right? So far though, I was fine with my meds. I hadn’t felt woozy yet. So we went on into the lounge. There were apparently some issues with people not getting their invitations, but I think word got to just about everyone because it was a huge gathering!

I was very impressed that so many of the officers came out to welcome us. The two stand outs at this party were the Cruise Director, Ken Mills and the Captain, Dimitrios Kafetzis. I can’t say enough good things about these two. Ken was personable, charming, and funny but also on it! He didn’t miss a beat. He makes Georgia proud (he’s from Savannah) - go Ken! He asked the CC people to please let the X staff know if there is an issue so they can try to fix it before blasting them online. A very acceptable request, I think. Captain Dimitrios was hysterical and also just so charismatic. He had a Go Pro attached to his wrist at all times and the footage was used for a DVD you could purchase. We didn't, but I’m sure it was funny. I’ll be saying a lot more on these characters later. I’d like to give a huge thank you and shout out now to Penny, the awesome fellow Atlantan who organized our very successful Cabin Crawl. THANK YOU, PENNY!! Also, thank you to the awesome Wine-O for starting our roll call, giving great advice, and having the best wardrobe and accessories on board ;-) It was a fun crew for sure. Ok so the cabin crawl. If you’re not familiar, it’s basically a walking tour of different cabins, volunteered by people on your roll call and organized ahead of time by some brave person who is choosing to work on their vacation! The idea is to get as many varied cabins as possible. We had a deck 11 aqua aft balcony cabin, a sweet 16 2C balcony cabin, a regular 2B balcony cabin, a 2B accessible balcony cabin 6103, Corner Family Veranda 7202, a deck 9 Aqua balcony,a Sky Suite on deck 6, and an inside cabin. As newbies to cruising, this was very informative and fun! **Some things I learned: A Sweet 16 is the bomb. No balcony, save the aqua aft and family veranda were bigger. I was feeling very good about the money we saved. The aqua, and sky suite balconies did have an actual tall table as opposed to our squatty footstool-table hybrid. The aqua aft (maybe sky suite too?) also had the nice reclining chairs and real footstools. I think I would splurge for those. The Sky Suite also had a large closet (small walk in) and a very luxurious bathroom. The only issue was the height of the tub/shower combo. It would have been quite difficult to climb in and out of. It really needed stairs. I saved the best for last. The Corner Family Veranda had just an outrageously big balcony, shown below. Loungers, a round table to fit six, and chairs galore. Heck, you could practically have your own Zumba class on that balcony! It would be great for two couples or a family, although having only one bathroom might cause issues. Sleeping wise, it’s got the standard two twin/queen and two couches, one of which is a pull out. The space between the bed(s) couches is also divided by a panel. I don’t think it has a door that fully closes between them, but I definitely could be wrong about that.

This is the view of the other aft cabins. You can see how monstrous this balcony really is in comparison.

Enjoying your review! We sailed last year at this time. Our son, Jordan Peterson, is the piano entertainer, so if you see him, say HI from his Mom and Dad! Enjoy Bermuda...it is AMAZING!!

Your son is delightful. We enjoyed his music a few weeks ago on Summit.

Yay, another installment....can't wait for more.:)

There is a sliding door between the bedroom and the sitting areas in the aft/ corner FV cabins and it does close completely. My husband and I had one of those amazing cabins twice on Panama Canal cruises.

Here ya go :) Will like seeing our cruise shown from the eyes of another person! If you are missing anything or pics of something that you wanted I will look and see if we can fill it in for ya.

We didn't make the CC party or most stuff monday and most of tuesday as the rocking of the boat did us both in until meds (tons) starting kicking in tuesday night. Thank god the boat stopped wednesday in Bermuda lol
