Oh Oh I know, I know .... but I'll let you tell. I'm on the Oasis Transatlantic after dry dock and we heard of a couple of changes the other day.

 

When is Oasis going to dry dock? We will be going in January and last yr. we switched fr the Allure to the Oasis bc of Allure having the propulsion probs and going into dry dock.

Oasis dry dock is the first two weeks of October 2014.

Allure went for repairs to the Bahamas for a few days to fix that specific problem. Oasis is going to Rotterdam (or somewhere close by) for her 5-year check up. We leave Rotterdam on 10/14 for a 13 day cruise - Southampton, England and Vigo, Spain are the two ports of call, then across the Atlantic back to Ft. Lauderdale. Allure goes in for her 5-year checkup in 2015.

We will answer your questions and tell you about the boardwalk restaurant that will be added to Ms. Oasis when she dry docks in the Fall later but for now please enjoy the food porn pics....YUMMY!!!

 

Just so you all know the new restaurant on Boardwalk is due to a campaign that was headed by Bucketobeer.

This is a Specialty Restaurant so additional $$'s. Deck 8 Central Park Neighborhood.

 

 

By the way they have changed the menu. It is even better than before!!!

 

For an appetizer I had scallops that were yummy and tried the shrimp and crap cake but of course being from Maryland I think it could have been better.

I ordered the Veal Chop in Chops as I am not a steak type person but choose to eat at Chops with family and friends. The menu includes seafood and short ribs etc. as well.

 

A date wouldn't have to worry about me breaking the bank. I love fine food but am more comfortable with a hamburger than a steak. ;)

 

Remember:This is a Specialty Restaurant so additional $$'s. Deck 8 Central Park Neighborhood.

In Chops sides are served Family Style. You can order as many as you want for the table. We selected corn, spinach, mashed potatoes and asparagus. All were DELISH!!!

 

Each specialty restaurant has a specialty.

Chops is steak

Giovanni's is Italian

Vintages is wine paring and tapas

Izumi is sushi

Etc

So be sure to check the menu before making a decision.

The food porn is truly magical... Making my mouth water and I'm not even hungry!!

 

Now I get to spend my work day taking stabs at what will be coming to the Boardwalk this fall... but if BucketOBeer is any indication, looks like RCI is banking everyone onboard to get the drink packages. (that's just my first guess!!) :eek:

Stop by this outdoor hotdog specialty counter and choose from traditional hot dogs, brats, sausages and other delicious linked meats, plus a variety of toppings to split a long bun.

 

I know some of you are disappointed but my friend Bucket will be glad to hear this news.

A Dog House!?!? That I would have never guessed! I thought I'd read that they were getting rid of the Seafood Shack and putting in a Margaritaville instead. Maybe that was just wishful thinking on the part of the poster!

 

The Dog House is one of the reasons I give a higher rating to Allure over Oasis. I'd go on both again, but loved the Dog House!!

 

I think we just have to do both again -- for Oceanaria and Blue Planet on Allure and Hairspray and the ice show on Oasis!

 

Looking forward to your day in Cozumel (one of my favorite ports).

The Boardwalk Neighborhood is a wonderful area. Here you will find the carousel, Aqua Theatre, Johnny Rockets, Seafood Shack and the Ballon Man. It has a great carnival type atmosphere with ice cream, face painting, and FREE donuts.

Can you tell me what deck you took the last picture from? We have the farthest aft boardwalk balcony on deck 12 and am trying to get a perspective of what our view will be!
