soflalaw Posted June 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) Going on the UK Isles Ruby Princess cruise with my wife, departing on June 28th. Called Ocean Players Club, phone answered by Kristin, who sounded personable, but had no information, other than types of table games (BJ, LIR, Craps, etc.). If anyone has been onboard the Ruby Princess recently, perhaps you could share the Blackjack table playing conditions. 1. Are they all Continuous Shuffle Machines (the dreaded CSMs), Automated Shuffle Machines (ASMs, not as bad), or hand shuffles? 2. If a mixture of CSMs, ASMs and hand shuffling, how many of each, and what are the table minimums at each? 3. What carney games (Match the Dealer, Spin the Wheel, Lucky Ladies, etc.) do they have on the Blackjack tables? 4. Are they all Hit on Soft 17 (Ace-6), or do they have Stand on All 17s? 5. Once again, if a mixture, at what table limits do they offer Hit and Stand on Soft 17s? 6. What is the payout for Blackjacks? 3:2; 6:5 or 1:1? 7. Once again, if a mixture, which payoff on which table condition? Response is much appreciated. Edited June 20, 2014 by soflalaw

soflalaw Posted June 30, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) Okay, played first 2 nights. Blackjack 3-4 tables open (demand). $5-$500 (min/max). H17. DA2, Split up to 4 (Aces only 2). DAS. No surrender. Hand shuffle, but 8 decks. Minimum of 2 deck dealer cut (some dealers near 2.75-3 decks). Wished they had better penetration, but at least not CSMs!!! 3-card poker, Carribean stud poker and LIR. All hand shuffle. Video Poker Pro for UTH. Roullette, Craps and slots. Buffy&Barny Posted September 22, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 22, 2014 Very disappointing casino! Closed 4 continuous days, and open 2 hours on following day, 2 1/2 hours on the day after that. 12 day cruise ONLY 4 sessions of Bingo! This experience has us research MUCH than the ports on future cruises!! In January out of FL for a weekend cruise, casino staff worked more than time off of August cruise! They were also happier, pit bosses were sweet and talkative. This was a real education on what research you need before booking a cruise, or going on the Ruby with the casino staff vacationing with you!
