you will pick up your excursion at ward cove. some excursions may allow you to stay in town and then take the general shuttle back if you choose to do so.

NCL - Sun - May 10, 2024 Light Switch Card?
smarterman64 replied to Ravenwoods's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
my stateroom on the sun did not have the light switch activated by a card. -
qustionably at best... it doesn't load completely so it looks funny.

Alternative parking in Long Beach.
smarterman64 replied to mkcurran's topic in West Coast Departures
local hotels may do park and stays... i think hotel current, maybe the maya do it. -
you may also check the port calendar and see who else is in port with you at ward cove. when i went on the sun, encore got there first and the shuttle lines were a bit long. i had an excursion though and left with the excursion.

don't forget that the bus also lets off i think at berth 4, so there is some time needd to walk to the meeting point.

new to area would be quantum and carnival firenze. ncl joy technically as welll end of this year/early next year

Carnival Panorama is fairly new, 2019/2020. NCL Bliss is 2018 i think. NCL Joy 2019. Navigator is older, but a wonderful ship. Carnival Radiance was expanded and refurbished recently. Discovery Princess is 2023 i think. so there are newer ships at least part of the time on west coast

Some Q's .. Navigator OTS, and the PV port
smarterman64 replied to MisterMatthew's topic in Royal Caribbean International
if you check, carnival might stay later in puerto vallarta because they have an excursion for rhythym of the night. -
sounds like lax. if you're arriving at TBIT, you're likely international and be dropped landside, so you can walk over to t3... they are right next door.

Docking in Naples Italy....how long to walk off the ship
smarterman64 replied to Anyislandwilldo's topic in Italy Ports
I was on a different cruise line in naples. It wasn't a long walk, maybe 10-15 minutes? even slowly? try mapping it on google maps to get a better idea. -
i can think of a couple options: 1. switch the device that is online to the phone device, then you should be able to open the app to confirm there. then switch back to computer. 2. sometimes you can do an offline code (more often known as google authenticator) and type in a code instead of doing the approval via a push notification.

something to note: if there is a notification like this, the 2nd device will also need to be on the internet to approve the 1st device.

is it work email or personal email? regardless, the email server *should* be using a secure connection. that is, if you look at the URL here on cruise critic, it's https, not http. the s implies there is a secure connection between your device and the server, so no one can see the contents of the email from your device to your email server. THere is nothing "extra" to buy for extra security except perhaps a VPN, but all a VPN gets you is an extra layer from you to the first email server. So note i say first email server, becuase... emails need to be sent server to server and that is not necessarily guaranteed to be secure (and you have no control over that, but for exampe in Gmail you can see if an email was sent end to end secrely or not). So with https without vpn, what can you see? well, just what url you're hitting (e.g. boards.cruisecritic.com), not the contents of what was sent. That being said, https is secure. And theoretically so is the email (if configured properly)

Tax in Port on New England :/ Canada cruises
smarterman64 replied to KeithJenner's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
i don't know the tax (i can't remember), but i remember while in canadian ports, only 1 bar per deck could be open for NCL. -
senor frogs is a good way point.

Northbound Alaskan Cruise - NCL, Princess, or Holland America?
smarterman64 replied to Bogie76's topic in Alaska
Would you consider adding a few days on the other end in anchorage? That might be nice as well, perhaps a cruise tour. I would also rule out NCL because of Ward Cove for Ketchikan which adds overhead (unless you are doing cruise ship excursions solely and no self exploring) -
my renewal was conditional until it magically went to approved on its own a few months later. prior to the appointment i had scheduled for the interview.

eagle is no longer there unfortunately.
