Best place to purchase liquor and cigarettes?

One of our ports of call in November is St Thomas, and my husband has been trying to determine where the best place is to do his cigarette and alcohol shopping. I know generally the stores in the marketplace are priced higher than local places off the beaten path. Any recommendations?

Used to be Kmart for liquor. Last year we purchased downtown, but prices seemed to be the same at the pier.

There's a tobacco store at the Havensight dock - Tobacco Discounters. Not sure of prices.

 

Some liquors are usually on sale at local stores before holidays. The only way to find out, though, is to check the newspaper or online ads in Virgin Islands Daily News.

Prices on the ship are definitely much higher for cigarettes and alcohol and everything else. Plenty of stores both at Havensight or in town that you can compare prices for both items. The average cost for a carton of cigarettes in St. Thomas was $25.

A lot stores in St. Thomas will also deliver alcohol to your ship so no need to carry those bottles around with you while shopping.

 

Don't know if your itinerary is also going to St. Maarten as I found cigarettes on front street to be $18 & $20 a carton in Philipsburg.

they are at each pier and deliver to the ship. Often have 2 bottle specials and a good choice of cigs. Same prices as in town.
