Gon2hwe Posted June 27, 2014 #51 Share Posted June 27, 2014 For some reason the 6 day cruises on Breeze aren't selling well. If you booked one of these keep an eye on the rates. They are dropping big time.
cuccicruisers Posted June 27, 2014 #52 Share Posted June 27, 2014 I am booked on a six-day on the breeze. But it's a concert cruise and I have not seen any drops yet only an increase. Jana60 Posted June 27, 2014 #54 Share Posted June 27, 2014 I'm nosy so I like to know the specifics too! I cruise solo frequently so I'll enjoy knowing what the prices are if only one person is cruising. There's a thread I watch in which solo travelers tell about good deals they found and we do report cabin type, price, and whether that price includes port charges and taxes. For instance my next cruise is a 5 day Western Caribbean on Triumph in a porthole cabin in July for $488.51 including port charges and taxes + $50 stockholder OBC This is not the lowest price I've ever gotten for a 5 day cruise but it's pretty decent for a summertime cruise out of Galveston. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Forums mobile app Whoops! Turns out it wasn't as good of a deal as I thought. I had stayed in room 2212 before and knew it had portholes so I just assumed that 2208 did. It does not so I guess I'll be in the dark for the duration. It's my own fault I should have checked the room description. Sad thing is there were even rooms available that were definitely porthole at the time I booked but I wanted to be in the same room for both cruises of a back to back so I took that room. Oh well!! we live and learn! I would have preferred natural light but the room is still very spacious for only one person and I'll be comfortable. After all I'm primarily only in the room at night anyway so there wouldn't have been much light coming in in any event. MMastell Posted June 27, 2014 #57 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Last month my wife and I did a "last minute" (actually 3 weeks) before sailing on the Carnival Liberty and got a 8N balcony for $1536 for both of us. Not a bad price for a good cabin. We greatly enjoyed the cruise but next time I'll book the 8M. The cabins on deck 8 have the "extended closet" that makes the entry area seem much smaller. Take care, Mike
Swampbaby Posted June 27, 2014 #58 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Booked Early Saver January 2014 for February 2015 deck 7 aft interior 8 night cruise for two. We are in modified handicap cabin and even then had almost no choice of locations. Paid $1348 plus $129.24 taxes, fee, etc for $1477.24 total. As of now the price is $1608 plus $170.78 for total of $1778.78 which is an increase of $301.54. Really odd part is I keep looking and the same cabins keep popping up as available so that tells me they are NOT selling very well so why the continued increases in price? Maybe after final payment due date things will start dropping. If so, great. If not, then I'm still happy with price we paid.
4Tacos Posted June 27, 2014 #59 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Our next cruise us February 2015. We booked it in May 2014 - Early Saver. Eight days on the Sunshine. Deck 8, category 4G interior. Two adults and two children. $3088.96 which includes cruise, taxes, fees, gratuities and insurance. $772.24 per person. I'm really hoping for some price drops. I prefer to keep the price to around $750 per person including on board spending and depending on what the husband drinks can add up fast. I took advantage of the gift card promo and pocketed $150 dollars to pit towards the bill. I will also have airfare, hotel the day before and day after the cruise a rental car the day before and after the cruise and miscellaneous spending in Orlando and each of the ports (we don't do excursions, just the beach and a little shopping). I applaud all of you who can keep the cost low. We cruised in Feb 2014 on the Dream, 7 day, same category and location, and when it was all said and done with EVERYTHING included (and I mean everything) we spent $6000. I now budget yearly for our cruise. For comparison, we did a land vacation in Sept 2013 to Hilton Head, SC and with EVERYTHING included (we drove), it only came out to $2500. mum2bradley Posted June 27, 2014 #62 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Last year we did Christmas on the Breeze - ES 8 day Southern Balcony on the Lido 8E for 3 $4669.06 CDN. We had a few price drops all before April and ended up paying $3859.06 for a total of $810 in savings. This year we are doing NYE on the Breeze - ES 6 day Balcony on the Lido 8E for $3194.61 CDN. No price drops so far but we did get $2000 worth of the Father's day gift cards so I applied that the the cruise. Hoping for at least one price drop. lady_cruiser Posted June 28, 2014 #72 Share Posted June 28, 2014 (edited) Not to be rude however, my meaningful numbers are nobody elses business. Just like my annual income. Nunya And I'm not really concerned as to what fare other people paid. I'm happy with my fare, I can only assume that you're happy with your fare. I think the way "not to be rude" would have been to just skip over the post and not reply to it. Because frankly, your reply was quite rude..... KatieCharlotte Posted June 28, 2014 #74 Share Posted June 28, 2014 Almost exactly $2,000, including $287 in prepaid tips, for 5 people for 5 days on the Victory during spring break. Verandah inside, which we loved. Not early saver and certainly not casino rate. We spent $5 in the gift shop, maybe $30 extra on tips onboard, and about $500 on private excursions. I am not shocked or disappointed that Carnival has never offered us a free cruise. :D
