Doing the B2B on Splendor for 5/24 and 6/1...16 days total. Traveling solo.

$791 for the 2 cruises with a shipboard credit total of $200 ($100 each cruise)

So it's $591 for 16 days in a balcony on Deck 8 AND I got the same cabin for both cruises!

Could have done it for less than half of that in an inside cabin but I really need my balcony for 16 days (lol)...

I'm HAPPY!

So, I will add my most recent ship to this thread. I just booked the vista as part of the Valentine's day sale. Balcony Guarantee for 6 days $579/pp or $1363 total. We decided to let Carnival pick our room this time. There's so many exciting rooms on this ship that I just couldn't choose. Plus we got $50 OBC!

The difference even on a "free" cruise is amazing

3-7-15 Carnival Sunshine 8 day Southern Free Casino cruise was $169 total for 2 of us (paid fees and taxes only) for a 7th deck interior.

6-13-15 Carnival Elation 5 day Pack-n-Play $305 for a OV everything included plus $100 OBC

7-12-15 NCL Alaska Free Casino Cruise $2150!! for a upgrade to a balcony plus fees and taxes for 3 of us. (Yes, I know Alaska is more expensive, but $2150 for a free cruise!! Would have been $1500 for the base interior...)

Being just a couple of hours from Charleston, SC we have the benefit of being able to be driven to the port early that morning and home when finished with the only additional cost of gas for the car for whichever family member is available at the time. With that said, we are on a 5 day Carnival Fantasy cruise to Bahamas and the total for 2 of us OV, taxes, pre paid gratuities is $473.xx pp. We don't drink much nor gamble - we are taking a beach excursion in Freeport and walking around Nassau so we will likely end up at sub $1200 for the two of us.

With that said, I don't compare myself to others better/worse but look at it like being taking advantage of coupons or aggressive bargain hunting. If you can get away with it and the alternative costs are justifiable by all means. Being located in the south east coast, we can easily drive to Florida for special cruises. Given this, I would be hard pressed to essentially double the cost of a cruise for something like the 5 day cruise we are doing but we would fly/spend additional money for like when we did the 20 day Mediterranean cruise in 2007.

Booked during the $35 sale, paid $800 and change for the two of us inside, ended up in an inside on the Lido deck. Not bad! Our airfare cost $270 as we had miles, free car in Fort Lauderdale (Hertz points) and a room at well known name brand (cant mention it as my friend works there and got it cheap) $29 for the night! Had $1200 OBC that we paid $900!

Hi. We are on the March 1st sailing out of Port Canaveral for a 7-day trip to Nassau, Cozumel, Mahoghany Bay, and Costa Maya. We originally booked a standard indoor room on Riviera for $449 a person with an OBC of $50. We just received a call from Carnival for an upgrade to Deck 7 for an aft extended deck for $300 more plus we can keep our $50 OBC. First time we have received an offer for an upgrade and I said yes. It sounded like a good deal to me. Any opinions appreciated.
