lnew1gd1 Posted June 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Hi, does anyone know if there is any type of transportation on the pier to help get those with mobility issues ( can't walk that far on the long pier) from the ship to the port/beach area? Have a friend that uses a rollator walker on board but not sure if they will be able to walk that far to get to the port area. Most long piers have a tram or guys riding bikes that pull passengers or some type of transport but I can't remember seeing anyone in Grand Turk. Thanks in advance for any and all replies. Rare crewsweeper Posted June 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Have them check with their cruise line about wheel chairs. If they're bringing their own, or using their own walker, the pier isn't that long and the shopping area is right at the end. No trams needed on GT. mrsfuzzmo Posted June 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2014 My MIL uses a rollator and when she gets tired, she just sits ion the seat and we push her that way. Not great for long distances of course, but it works for a quick ride. Like stated above, not that long of a pier, so no trams.
