You will find private (certified and english speaking) drivers offering private and/or shared tours on the dock.

If you haven't been in PV for that long I recommend taking a taxi to the malecon(boardwalk) in town and stroll along. Look at the lovely statues along the way.

Stop in at some of the shops. Cross the bridge into the "Romantic" Zone where you'll find the gorgeous new pier!

Have a drink or a meal and hang out on Playa Los Muertos.

A taxi is about $6-8 from outside the port area.

A bus is much less!
