Ardaster Gardens - Zoo is it worth it?

Has anyone been. I will be dock there in December and since I can not do the dolphin encounter I was wondering if this is worth it. I will have a 5 year old with me. Anyone know the taxi rate from cruise dock to Ardaster Gardens?

Ardastra Gardens would be a fun day for your 5 year old. The marching flamingos are wonderful, and the grounds are small, but packed with fun animals.

The cab should be about $6 for 2 ppl. $3 for additional persons. You can walk BACK to the main road when you are finished, and hail the jitney for $1 pp. It's only 1/2- 3/4 mile or so from the gardens to downtown. (if you choose to walk back, you'll pass the Fish Fry at Arawak Cay for lunch or snak, as well as the Public beach along the esplanade. It's really a nice walk for the most part).

We spent an afternoon at the Gardens and enjoyed it - especially the marching flamingos. Instead of a cab, we took one of the jitneys that dropped us on the main road - short walk from there to Ardastra.
