Alaska westerdam & Seattle

Recommended Posts

First time to Seattle. So many things to do. Was unsure where to stay, chose the Hyatt place by the space needle. Paid for view of the space needle and loved it. The hotlel is nice, staff are very nice and try to be accomodating!!!! Breakfast is good-buffett. Didnt make reservations for a meal at the space needle but luck was with us and they had a cancellaatio. Very impressive. As for the waterfront-from the hotel you really have to use their free transportation to get to the waterfront-pike market etc. Once in that area there is so much to do. We took a ferry to Bremerton to see the US Tourner joy. The ferry ride was a poor mans way to see Puget Sound. Eight bucks round trip. The scenery is just amazing. Later learned the ferry to Bainbridge would have been good too. Cafe's artsy stuff and a casino. But we didn't make it there. Now getting ready for the Westerdam and alaska. Will come back to seattle again!!! Might be nice to have a place to stay closer to the waterfront.

I've been to Seattle many times and I usually stay at the Edgewater Hotel. Its very nice and is truly a "waterfront" hotel. Its built on a pier, so you can't get more waterfront than that. And, its pretty close to everything. The Marriott Waterfront is also very nice.

Have a wonderful cruise. A good friend of mine is on that cruise with you.

Enjoy your trip! We have taken the ferry from Seattle to Bremerton many times and I agree! Great sightseeing on a budget. My son was stationed in Bremerton for 3 years and we loved that trip. We cruised to Alaska with them on the Westerdam and it was the best vacation ever. Great ship and amazing scenery.

Thanks for sharing with us. We had a wonderful time in Seattle. I really loved our stay. We also had a gorgeous view from our hotel down by waterfront.

Have a great cruise.

Thanks for posting. One of the towns that I especially enjoy on the Puget Sound is Friday Harbor. I don't remember which ferry we took to get there. Did you have a good view of Mt. Rainier? The best view I ever had was in July 2008 on the ferry to Bainbridge Island.
