knittinggirl Posted July 2, 2014 #26 Share Posted July 2, 2014 We've been through the same thing, and it's horrible to lose a parent. We lost one parent in 4 days, and another over a decade. So, we understand. Go ahead with your travel plans, it will do you good.

HB Cruiser Posted July 2, 2014 #30 Share Posted July 2, 2014 Sorry. I lost my mother 25 days before our cruise in May. I debated what to do after everything was done. Mom would have wanted us to go. We went. There were times that I got emotional, I would always call her as the ship left the dock to tell her we were moving, and so forth. Please go and have a good time, I am sure she would want all of you to go. Tim
Plymouthmerlin67 Posted July 2, 2014 #31 Share Posted July 2, 2014 Sure I speak for everyone on this side of the pond. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Yes, do the cruise and remember, she will be looking down on you. Don't know about the ship you will be on, but am sure there will be a chapel should you need it. readytolose Posted July 3, 2014 #33 Share Posted July 3, 2014 Sorry for your loss. Your cruise is probably going to be much needed after all of the planning, funeral and emotions that will occur over the next week. God bless you and your family. IWORK2CRUISE Posted July 3, 2014 #34 Share Posted July 3, 2014 Blessings and condolences to you and your family. I hope that you go and enjoy your cruise. We had a Disney trip planned when my father passed away. It was a few weeks after the death, and while I was not feeling excited I thought of how he enjoyed hearing about our travels. CMurph Posted July 3, 2014 #35 Share Posted July 3, 2014 Although we are strangers to each other, this touches my heart & I light a candle for your loved one. I believe this will be a very special cruise for you all, with moments of sadness to have to say goodbye to someone you love so much, but a happiness knowing that she is now at peace.
