lunch in Civitavecchia

We have been to Rome a few times and were thinking to go for lunch in Civitavecchia. Does anyone have any restaurant recommendations? Info?

Assuming you take the train down to Civitavecchia , then walk out front of the station turn right. Walk down the ramp roadway and then along the footpath towards the cruise port. You will pass many waterfront restaurants which are all equally good and none will break the bank .

If Civitavecchia is one of our port stops, be aware that because of work being done the port shuttle is currently going to a temporary stop, rather than the old port gates. So to walk from the new stop right along to the waterfront restaurants kuldalai is referring to will take you 20 - 30 minutes.

There is also a large statue of the sailor and girlfriend on the waterfront. If you've been to San Diego, its the same as the one there.

If you're willing to take a short cab (about six miles) or train (one stop) ride, probably the best reviewed, long standing restaurant in the area is Ristorante AL 58 in Santa Marinella: http://www.al58.it/

Now that would be a great, relaxing excursion! One stop on the train would be easy and you would have lots of time so would not need to be first off the ship.
