We begin our trip in Fairbanks and end in Vancouver. Should I allow 1 or 2 days pre and post trip in these cities? What do you recommend is a must if we are only there for a day or two? Time will be limited! Considering staying at the Holland owned hotels in both cities, any thoughts on this? Thanks for any advice!

You can easily fill two days seeing the sights in Fairbanks. Also consider what time your flight arrives there. A lot of flights come in very late so you may not feel like getting up and sight-seeing first thing next morning. If you have booked a land tour/cruise package the included activities usually start the morning after their itinerary calls for your arrival.

Just got back mid-June from our Alaska trip and we spent 3 days in Fairbanks and 2 in Vancouver and loved all of it! My trip report is in my signature line.

My favorite in Fairbanks was Running Reindeer Ranch. Got to get up close and personal to 9 reindeer for a couple of hours. Once in a lifetime experience. We also spent time at North Pole and the Ice Museum at Chena Hot Springs.

In Vancouver, we've done Capilano Suspension Bridge before and loved it. This time we planned to do Grouse Mountain, but weather didn't help out. So, we simply did the HOHO and had a great time. Did a lot of walking through the different neighborhoods.

Definitely worth the time at each! I don't regret any of it!
