Port at Dover

I didn't notice any shops at the port itself.

We went from the bus to the terminal then herded to the checkin counters, security and onboard.

Maybe in town you would have better luck.

Famous for its White Cliffs and the landmark for returning Sailors in WW2. A major cross Channel Port for trips to France.

A small shopping centre with all the usual shops but I do not remember any speciality wine outlets. Most Brits will go over to France to pick up the bargains as the UK tax on a bottle is very high.

A bottle of Scotch in a Supemarket will be around $20.......wines from $4-30.

To HHI cruiser,

Dover is a lovely little town. We really enjoyed staying there at a B&B two years ago and touring the tunnels under the Dover Castle. If you have time after your shuttle to the ship, do take a cab ride and explore the town and see the tunnels. Go to http://www.frommers.com or http://www.fodors.com and you can research them. You can stop at a store and pick up all your needs before you sail.
