Booked a AA guaranteed....Question?

We booked an AA Guaranteed on the Zuiderdam for July 10 sailing. I just went on HAL's website and we have been assigned a A cat which I think is a bit of an upgrade (same cabin, higher deck), correct? Is there still a chance for more of an upgrade? This trip will be dh's 40th b-day and our 3rd anniv. All that was on the trip info. Will they consider that when determining who to upgrade?

Knowing HAL it could be a flip of a coin that determines whether or not you get a further upgrade. I booked a BB guarantee on the same cruise and am still waiting to hear which cabin I will be in.

Last year we booked a BB guarantee and were upgraded to an A. Then our HAL rep called and offered to upgrade us to an SS for $150. We took it and loved it. We booked through HAL and they were aware it was our anniversary. I assume it helped but I don't really know.

The best course is always to book the minimum cabin you can be happy in and not depend upon getting something given to you in case it does not happen.

Seeing as you are celebrating two events, you may wish to select the specific cabin you want and buy it. You'd be surprised the percentage of folks who are celebrating something on their cruise....be it a graduation, a birthday, all sorts of things. Not everyone of them can get a free upgrade.
