Pennbank Posted July 26, 2014 #26 Share Posted July 26, 2014 (edited) The offer I mentioned above is a Day Return, so If staying longer then that you will have to purchase another day return ticket. Still a lot cheaper then a normal open ticket. I meant Nation Rail ticket website ( Not Network as stated) Presently these fares are not showing up on National Rail ticket purchase site Edited July 26, 2014 by Pennbank
DWhit Posted August 24, 2014 #27 Share Posted August 24, 2014 I just booked online for the Megatrain from Waterloo to Southampton for our October 8th trip from England to NewYork. Total fare for our one way trip was 2.5 pounds. :D My wife was skeptical and asked me how they could do this. I said I had no idea, but apparently they do. It seems like one of those deals that sound too good to be true and turn out to have a big catch somewhere. Hopefully that will not be the case this time, and we will not have to listen to a timeshare presentation on the trip down. We are determined to pack in one suitcase each, with one carry on each, which is what the airline we are using to get from the US to the UK allows without charge, so we should be able to handle the luggage aspect. I can't imagine a better way to start our transatlantic trip than with a train ride to the port!

The train is the same one that people will pay about £40 for, so relax and enjoy the scenery Edited August 24, 2014 by tartanexile81
