Just having a snoop around the various cruiselines and Princess (only saw it on their website) had an oceanview cabin for $695 Melbourne to Auckland (4 nights).

 

So I snagged a guaranteed oceanview cabin.

I think from October right through to March , Dawn Princess is doing round trip cruises ex Melbourne. They are also doing round trips ex Auckland so during that time there should be lots of chances for short cruises.

The one I booked was for 20 October 2014. 4 nights to Auckland. I think it is part of the 13 day round cruise to Melbourne.
