Are shops closed on Mondays in Aix?

I heard somewhere that all the shops in Aix en Provence (and Marseille?) are closed on Mondays. If that is true, are most of the restaurants closed too?:confused:

Mondays are always an "iffy" shopping day in both France and Italy. You are going to find some places closed, and many more open. As to restaurants, I will guess that most places you would choose to eat lunch will be open. Overall, the "Monday problem" is less of an issue in France then it is in Italy.

During the summer, a lot of shops are open in mondays, but the rest of the year.... :rolleyes:
