dotcom012 Posted July 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2014 Hello, I will taking my first ever cruise to the Bahamas. I will also be going in November, a first for me. What kind of weather is expected around that time? Colder then normal? Are the seas bad heading out that way due to hurricane season still in affect? As far as the ship, I've only been on the large ships. This will be the first time going on a much smaller ship. How is the ship as far as size and convenience on getting around? Problem with lots of people at the pool(s)? Thanks for your help, Scott

We cruise in Nov almost pretty much every year and it's usually pretty warm and humid. The seas vary and depend on storms. We've had mostly good weather and calm seas in Nov. dotcom012 Posted July 15, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted July 15, 2014 Thanks for all the info. I'm really taking this cruise to get the extra 4 points so i can move to the next category in the crown and anchor program. I wanted to be platinum before going on the cruise in June of next year to hopefully get the discount on the suite. So this out of the norm for me. But i am looking forward to it. LindaO Posted July 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) Hello, I will taking my first ever cruise to the Bahamas. I will also be going in November, a first for me. As far as the ship, I've only been on the large ships. This will be the first time going on a much smaller ship. How is the ship as far as size and convenience on getting around? Problem with lots of people at the pool(s)? Thanks for your help, Scott Hi Scott... Welcome to Cruise Critic! We could all make a good bit of $$ if we could accurately predict the weather for November!! But, having been on many cruises in November, I would guess that it will be warm and sunny. If there are no storms brewing in the area it will be smooth sailing, with a little bit of chop when you go through the gulf stream. Nothing to worry about. The water will still be warm... actually warmer than it is in May. It has had all summer to heat up. The Enchantment is by no means 'small'... and she is a fine lady. You'll notice people gathering in the pool area on sea days... but you'll find chairs and hopefully enjoy the sunshine. I'm not a big 'sit by the pool person' but I usually walk through a few times a day. The casino will be busy but you shouldn't have trouble being able to find a seat at the game you are interested in playing. Shows will also have good seats available if you arrive a few minutes prior to the start.... we usually arrive about 15 minutes prior, get our drinks and wait. I hope you enjoy your cruise. We are on her for a B2B in September/October... we love the Enchantment. Edited July 15, 2014 by LindaO
FLACRUISER99 Posted July 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 15, 2014 I wouldn't worry about hurricane season as only a small chance of a tropical system this late in the season. You might encounter a strong cold front that may cool the temps into the 60's. Don't get me wrong the weather most likely will be warm but it's not guaranteed this time of the year. SC_Floaters Posted July 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 15, 2014 Sue & I have visited Nassau/CoCoCay every month of the year except July. Have had a couple cool January/February visits, but the sun's always warm... The Enchantment 3 and 4 day cruises out of Port Canaveral are our favorite getaways. A half days drive and we are there. We've sailed the Sovereign 3 times, Monarch 11 times and Enchantment 5 times to the Bahamas out of Port Canaveral since 2007... We've visited Nassau 26 times and CoCo Cay 19 times. We really enjoy the Enchantment, for a seventeen year old ship that sails with up to 4,800 passengers each week, we think She's great... I've got to mention the New Years Eve Cruise on Enchantment... We did this cruise December 30, 2013, New Years Eve in CoCO Cay and New Years Day in Nassau... We have it booked again in 2014 ! The Enchantment knows how to Party on New Years Eve. Parties about the Ship for any taste, they had two combined bands in the Centrum doing Pop/Rock. They had a Latin band in Boleros, They had the Ship's Ochestra doing Big Band music in the Spotlight Lounge and a Pianist in the Schooner Bar. Every host/hostess started bringing out trays of complimentary Champaign about 11:45pm. There was a Buffet on the Pool Deck at 12:15am and if you were wondering what was happening in the Viking Crown Lounge, well, they started a Disco Party about 12:15AM (The First Party of 2014) that went, I'm Told, until 5AM... Reyno, the Concierge, had a party in his lounge too... The Enchantment is just a FUN ship. Dennis & Sue...
