No on the jackets, and yes on the free bottle of wine on the first night (although when we went in May, we went three nights into the cruise and, for some reason, they offered us a free bottle of wine).

Actually cruise casual as many won't have their suitcases by dinner the first night. They have also extended the free bottle of wine to the 2nd night also.

No jacket necessary. The free bottle of wine is offered on the first night and first elegant night.

White or red. Not the best quality but drinkable.

A Chardonnay that we thought was awful and a red that the friends we were with liked. Dont remember what type the red was.

Jacket is not required on the first or any night. Most people dress nicely though. Last cruise we sat next to a couple with the man wearing jeans and a polo. Not Walmart brand but high end nice quality clothes. Personally I would not wear jeans, but shirt and tie for the men and dress or nice pants/blouse is good.

I enjoy the Steakhouse on every CCL sail. I usually wear dockers and a golf shirt. When I reserved my table for my December cruise, the Freedom responded with a confirmation the very next day! On my October Conquest sail, it just took a few days more to get a confirming email back.

Can you reserve the steakhouse in advance online and if so do you pay in advance?

You can do it online, yes. Look at Plan Activities under manage your booking. Click on Steakhouse and fill in your info. The charge comes after you dine.

Haven't read the entire post, so maybe your question has been answered.

 

We book the steak house on the first formal night. Just off the Freedom on July 5.

 

We wear smart casual, as we no longer do formal night. Smart casual for us is cargo pants for each of us, nice blouse for me and collared shirt for DH.

 

First or second night you receive a free bottle of wine. If you do not drink wine, you can still receive the bottle so you can share with someone at home.
