Wine question

We were thinking about bringing wine with us this time. We are allowed one bottle for each adult, is that correct? Should we pack it in our suitcase or in our carry-on? And also, if we bring a corkscrew, where do we pack that? I don't want to get sent to the naughty room:eek:

Carnival's FAQ directly addresses this.

Has to be in your carry-on, at embarkation only. One 750 ml bottle per adult.

I put my corkscrew in my toiletries bag, which is always in my carry-on as well. Have never had it questioned. Depending on the port, you will need to remove the wine and show it at security. Some never ask and don't look. Others ask but don't look. There's no consistency.

Some ports are just more strict about checking what people are bringing on (Charleston has been the most thorough with their scrutiny, San Juan the least).

If you can, bring a corkscrew without a "foil cutter"/knife. I was stopped in Ft. Lauderdale port and the agent had me stand there awhile, talked to a few people, then let me go. But it held up the line and was annoying.

I've had my corkscrew that I packed in my carry on taken away from me at the Baltimore airport. I would play it safe and put it in your checked luggage.
