Jellifer Posted July 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Hi all, We have booked transfers with HAL I am wondering where we go to pick this up. Will there be a rep at the arrivals area holding up a HAL sign or do we need to make our way to anywhere in particular? Many thanks!

Anytime we have used a HAL transfer there has been a rep with a HAL sign somewhere around the luggage pickup area.
RuthC Posted July 20, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2014 When I did the HAL transfer from the Venice airport, there was a rep waiting as I exited the baggage/Customs area. Sometimes it's a person in a HAL blazer, holding a clipboard with the HAL logo. Other times it's a driver with my name on a card, like for any hired car. Look for both types of signs, as it's easy to focus on one type and miss your name on the other. :o
jtl513 Posted July 20, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Anytime we have used a HAL transfer there has been a rep with a HAL sign somewhere around the luggage pickup area. ... or just as we exited the baggage claim area. Depends on the airport set up. OP - put a HAL bag tag on your carry-on and they will sometimes spot you before you spot them. Once a rep was waving to us as we were just half way down an escalator leading to the baggage carousels.
mikeange Posted July 20, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2014 We used HAL's transfer from the airport in Venice to our hotel last fall. There was a HAL rep just outside of baggage/customs. She was easily identifiable. HAL could not have done a better job. The escorted us to the private water taxi. The water taxi took us to a drop off near the Rialto bridge from which the HAL rep walked us to the hotel. We were unable to be dropped off right at the hotel's launch due to high tide hence the drop off at the Rialto bridge. If your experience is anything like what we experienced, you will not be disappointed. The escort to the ship from the hotel was just as great. Very organized and worth every penny. Jellifer Posted July 20, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted July 20, 2014 (edited) Brilliant - thanks a lot for all of your replies.... Really helpful. I'll keep my eyes peeled as I exit customs. Not long to go now, just packing my last few bits & pieces :) Edited July 20, 2014 by Jellifer
Arubababe52 Posted July 23, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 23, 2014 Can you get a transfer if you don't book their hotels? How much does it cost? I was planning to take the bus which is only 7€ each. Sent from my iPad using Forums
jtl513 Posted July 23, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 23, 2014 Can you get a transfer if you don't book their hotels? I think so. How much does it cost? I was planning to take the bus which is only 7€ each.Four years ago it was something like $79 each. A taxi for two will cost about $50, plus tip. RuthC Posted July 23, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 23, 2014 Can you get a transfer if you don't book their hotels? How much does it cost? Yes, you can; I don't remember how much it costs. The transfer will be from the airport to the ship on day of embarkation, but you don't have to arrive that day. Simply give HAL an arrival time/airline that's convenient to you, return to the airport that morning, and join in as if you were just coming off a plane. I do that a lot. sammygoose Posted July 24, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Yes, it was very easy. Collect your luggage and then depart that area and a HAL rep is there easily identifiable. Check in and wait. Although pricey $80cdn PP it was very convenient after a long flight.
