c-legs Posted July 25, 2014 #56 Share Posted July 25, 2014 Are you kidding us ? REALLY ? You're a '' Modern Luxury Cruise line'' !!!!! We all knew you guys were on slippery slope with your annoying music experiment ( volume, invasive, type ) during last winter sailings out of Florida....But now THIS ???? You can't be serious.... If that's the way that MrBailey and the ''suits in Miami'' want to transform Celebrity, cut your losses now, give up the Modern Luxury aspect, give up the line and start some night clubs acts somewhere. Seriously ? Yes.

Tommy3putts Posted July 25, 2014 #59 Share Posted July 25, 2014 As a former DJ, count me as a not interested. As long as they keep it in the kids zone away from me, I could care less whether or not they do this.
QE2_Fan Posted July 25, 2014 #60 Share Posted July 25, 2014 My 10yo old son and I have both developed a taste for the new dance music known as Dubstep. Some great beats and tempos that really take you off into the zone!! Twilight zone for some but it's music that can bridge a gap between him and my 45 years!! There is one arrist, a 22 year old DJ known as OVERWERX that has produced some of the most amazing music I've heard. But I'm also partial to an orchestra or string quartet or the croons of Frank Sinatra and will always jump up to a mike with a verse of Mamma Mia!! So don't write of DJ's as some modern hip hoo hoodoo voodo ...it's an art and if it appeals to the younger crowd it can open them up to all that music has to offer. Thinks it sounds an interesting program, something fresh at least for the crowd it's intended [emoji16]for! Fouremco Posted July 25, 2014 #63 Share Posted July 25, 2014 No need to go back, as I've read all the posts and know that there are interested adults. The key word in my post was "offer", as Celebrity intends to provide this as part of their teen program, not to all passengers. As someone else pointed out, if adults start showing up, the teens may leave! :) Not just teens, re-read this entire thread, and see how many 20-30-40 and above are interested in this activity.... :)
cle-guy Posted July 25, 2014 #64 Share Posted July 25, 2014 The amusing part, is this has been in effect now for OVER A YEAR... so isn't really bothering people too much it seems... http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/Flyers/13034589_CEL_Family_Strategy_Info_Flyer.pdf From the flyer from June, 2013, it seems it was a teen program. However, if you check out X's Summit page, it is now listed among the adult activities, and not noted to be kids only any longer. http://www.celebritycruises.com/ships/celebrity-summit

FolsomMike Posted July 25, 2014 #67 Share Posted July 25, 2014 I gotta laugh at all the folks here who think this would only appeal to teens or does not fit the 'Modern Luxury' theme. Clubs with DJ's make more money for the upscale Vegas hotels like the Bellagio and Wynn than their casinos do (look it up). Just hope Celebrity doesn't start charging $1000. for bottle service.
SeafordCruiser Posted July 25, 2014 #68 Share Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) Heard from a friend who just got back that after awhile Reflections music turned to rap at night and all the adults left. There was some of this rap crap (pardon me!) last year.. A little is OK..Just that music is too much... Hope Celebrity isnt trying to be Carnival?? UGH! With Scratch DJ Academy® classes taught by seasoned DJ personalities, our teens will learn how to DJ on cutting edge equipment through a series of hands-on sessions. All this excitement leads up to a rocking graduation celebration where our newly taught DJs impress the celebrity DJ by creating their own mixes. They’ll also receive cool giveaways—including a certificate of graduation, DJ dog tags, and a scratch DJ Academy T-shirt. as an ex club dj id be very interested in at least looking to see how things have changed from when i was working.
