untailored bostonian Posted August 7, 2014 #26 Share Posted August 7, 2014 My money is on the Pearl... She is being replaced in Miami by the Escape next fall and will be available...:) Another guess is the Jade.
pdmartyn65 Posted August 7, 2014 #27 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Pearl does summers Seattle to Alaska. How would that work?
Demonyte Posted August 7, 2014 #28 Share Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) Pearl does summers Seattle to Alaska. How would that work? By Pearl not doing summers from Seattle to Alaska. Any more queations? ;) In other words, the possible future events guessed here have not been announced, as have not most other ships and their itineraries for that time. If Dawn became free for summers from Boston, it could easily take Pearl's place on the other side if Pearl were to become the new ship for Boston. untailored bostonian Posted August 7, 2014 #29 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Pearl does summers Seattle to Alaska. How would that work? The Dawn is leaving Boston and will be in NOLA the first week of May. Perhaps the Dawn goes North.
jethrojam Posted August 14, 2014 #30 Share Posted August 14, 2014 For what its worth, the governor of Massachusetts just signed a bill to dredge Boston Harbor.
Barb Nahoumi Posted August 14, 2014 #31 Share Posted August 14, 2014 Interesting. Hopefully NCL pushes to get the terminal modernized before they commit to anything larger (Jewel class isn't that much bigger but being able to get a balcony for 4 would be wonderful without having to jump to a minisuite). As much as I like the historical terminal in Boston, it just isn't big enough as it is to handle the Dawn class of ships. Worst debark experience we have had, and as much as I love Bermuda there are other options to get us there. The worst debark we ever had was Bayonne New Jersey. It is so disorganized there, and our group was not off of the ship until 10:30ish. Traffic in front of Black Falcon Terminal is hectic on disembarkation/embarkation day. It is well handled by the police and NCL staff. Since we're local, we leave the ship at 9:30. Any ship with a capacity of 3000 or less should be ok for Boston. Cruzinnana47 Posted August 25, 2014 #32 Share Posted August 25, 2014 The Dawn is leaving Boston and will be in NOLA the first week of May. Perhaps the Dawn goes North. Cannot find cruises scheduled for the Dawn anywhere after that week (May 1-8, 2016 from NOLA). Thought perhaps she'll undergo refurb. then or another ship will take her place. Usually Dawn would be in Boston by early May for the Bermuda run. The last couple years there's been a repo. from NOLA to Boston in April--one is scheduled for April, 2015. Anxious to see what happens - all we can do now is speculate.
