monkll Posted July 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2014 So we had pillowcases, shirts and books autographed..Any other unique ideas??In case anyone doesn't know, if you bring sharpies to the front desk on the cruise, they will have whomever you want autograph your items and it will be returned to your stateroom the night before the cruise is done:)
moki'smommy Posted July 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Actually, all you need to bring is the item you wish to have signed. There is a limit of 2 items per cabin (regardless of number of people in the cabin). IF you bring your own markers, they will use what you bring. If you do not supply markers, the items will be signed in black Sharpie. You fill out a form at GS specifying what signatures you want--princesses, all available, big 5/6, etc. Common items are photo mats, pillow cases, hats, shirts, etc. OP, you might want to do a photo mat--insert a cruise photo and frame it. Or hats.

Ex techie Posted July 31, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 31, 2014 I wonder if they will sign these and if anyone has asked? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Traveler-s-Choice-Zion-27-inch-Superlight-Spinner/37917461 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Shade-Sail-Canopy-16-Tan-Oversize-Sun-Shade-Patio-Yard-Cover-UV-Protected-New/37013837 ex techie
Ex techie Posted July 31, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) You see, that it is only because probably one Guest got something signed posted it online with the best of intentions to say how great DCL were, that now anyone cruising that visit sites like these hear about something like gift signing, then post it, but do not understand the repercussions of people re posting it, then asking for it, and then it is expected. They don't understand the extra demand it put on the crew to undertake what was a one off "magical moment" or just some pixie dust would become a "service". And neither do the shoreside bean counters when they calculate the people needed and trained to sign (in the right color per Character, as specified by the Guest), to deliver them to an area, time to get specific people to sign them, then deliver them back to GS, then deliver them to the Stateroom) and things get out of control and people get overloaded with out of the norm requests after they have the pillow case, plate, photo mat etc. This once "perk" will soon become overloaded to the point DCL will either start charging a fee for it, or pull it completely due to lack of personnel able to fulfil their duties within their allocated work hours. And all because they probably did something great for someone that got spread on the internet and they tried to keep people happy. Try to be happy with the normal items, and do not treat it as a given please. ex techie Edited July 31, 2014 by Ex techie
monkll Posted July 31, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted July 31, 2014 I certainly am happy with the "normal" items, whatever they may be. Whether its a pillow case or mickeys hand they will still sign it. These are the nice things about Disney. They CATER to children. That was not my question. meatloafsfan Posted July 31, 2014 #12 Share Posted July 31, 2014 We had a couple of duffy bear items signed - a shirt from Disneyland and a safari outfit from Disneyworld. The DL tshirt came out better but the safari outfit was still nicely done.

lovely_serenity Posted August 3, 2014 #14 Share Posted August 3, 2014 I've had a few tote bags signed :) So like a canvas bag! When I got it back, I went over the signatures a few more times with the Sharpie to make it more prominent!
