Dwight and I haven't been on a cruise with carnival for 3 years. We are again going to enjoy a southern Caribbean on the valor.

How are cruises out of San Juan now?

Welcome back! I can't comment on the Valor, but if you need help unpacking, feel free to bring me along!

 

I cruised out of San Juan 16 years ago and found it incredibly convenient, once you got over the long flight to get there. From what I've read it's still a great port to cruise from. Many people extend their vacations on either end to relax a bit before or after the cruise.

Prior to mid 2011, the San Juan Southern Caribbean departure offered a port of call in Dominica with zero sea days.

Coming from Montreal it's a long flight to San Juan but it's all worth it. I find especially in the colder month that leaving from there is like you are already on vacation as it is always beautiful.

As for the Valor have not been on it but I am sure it will be great.

I'm heading off to my 4th time from San Juan in January, twice solo and twice taking a different sister with me to share it. Absolutely my favorite itinerary.

 

First time on the Valor and looking forward to it. As excited to go this time as I was the last three. Love Old San Juan and all the ports. I admit I am one of those that cruises for the ports so the 6 ports works for me. Every island has its own charm and Old San Juan is a treat in itself.

Did this cruise in February and would do it again in a heartbeat. Loved the ship, the ports and San Juan. Can't wait to do it again someday. But... we were exhausted after our vacation. Even though we didn't fly home until Monday it felt like we were always on the go. Might plan for 2 days at the end next time.

We were just on the Valor, and although not my favorite ship, this was BY FAR my favorite itinerary to date! You will love it.
