Wendy The Wanderer Posted October 6, 2014 #26 Share Posted October 6, 2014 My favorite hotel in Venice is the Ca' Dogaressa. Here is the web site: http://www.cadogaressa.com/. You will probably get other opinions if you post your question on the Cruise Critic Ports of Call/Europe/Italy site. Looks like an interesting location. What was it that you particularly liked? How about getting there-- was access okay?
forevertravel Posted October 7, 2014 #27 Share Posted October 7, 2014 Two years ago when we were in Venice prior to our cruise Regent used Westin Europa and Regina for Concierge and above and Hilton for other passengers. We were staying at Europa and Regina for three days and met couple who Regent had put there for their free night prior to cruise. They must not be using those hotels if they are using the Excelsior. In spite of the crowds, I prefer to stay in Venice as opposed to Lido. I love walking around Venice and exploring all the alleys. The Hilton Molino Stuckey is on the other side of Grand Canal. They provide a shuttle across Grand Canal. I don't know how often. Forevertravel.
commodore2010 Posted October 9, 2014 Author #28 Share Posted October 9, 2014 I ended up staying at the Hilton Molino Stuckey. Very nice hotel. The view from the roof top bar is probably the best in Venice. Upgraded for the canal view room. Not everyday your in Venice, so it was worth it. If I remember correctly, the boat shuttle across is about every 15-30 min. One shuttle directly across the canal and another to San Marco.
lovemydentist Posted October 17, 2014 #29 Share Posted October 17, 2014 We also stayed at Locanda Vivaldi and loved it. They upgraded us to a junior suite which was a large room right on the Grand Canal. Very nice breakfast and fabulous location.
Professor_MA Posted October 22, 2014 #30 Share Posted October 22, 2014 Just returned last week from venice and stayed for three nights at the Hilton Stucky. Beautiful and very expensive as is most of Venice. The room was great and the executive lounge a real plus. The water taxi was 80 euros to the port and the hotels water bus to San Marco is convenient and reliable. Overall excellent experience Sent from my iPhone using Forums
