Flipper133 Posted August 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2014 The room at both are full harbour bridge view and I presume it is a short walk from both to the terminal Thanks again Yup, short walk to pier from both. Slightly downhill. The Shangri La is a fair bit closer. I have only stayed at Shangri-La... really nice hotel. I had a harbour view room...but it was of Darling Harbour not Circular Quay. Might be worth double checking if you decide to stay there... I think they promote their Circular Quay view rooms as having Opera House Views. cheers
BuzzBuzzen Posted August 1, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2014 View from Shangri-la Horizon Club Opera House View room , i recommend it , cheers, Buzz.

Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted August 1, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2014 Although I haven't stayed at either of the Sydney hotels, I have stayed at Shangri La and Intercontinental hotels overseas. Based on that I prefer Shangri La.
Lanwood Posted August 1, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 1, 2014 I've stayed at both, my vote is the Shangri la. If it's just a quick bed and breaksfast, it probably doesn't matter, but I really like the horizon club lounge at the Shangri La Sydney. (if you get a room that allows you access). It has beautiful floor to celing windows that run the length of the lounge looking over the harbour. - and you have your breakfast, drinks, nibbles/snacks there of course as well as check in/out up there also..... My partner would disagree and would talk us into the Four Seasons Circular Quay, liking their executive club lounge better than the horizon court (not me - it's nice, but I much prefer the view of the harbour from the Horizon club lounge). but as that's not on your choice of two, we won't bother talking it up....:)
angie366 Posted August 1, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 1, 2014 We've stayed at the Four Seasons twice before for cruises out of Sydney. Harbour views rooms are more exy, but the views are wonderful. Only a 3 minute walk to Circular Quay. I would stay there again. 5 star quality. I loved it. I haven't stayed at the Shangri-La or the Intercontinental. Rare MicCanberra Posted August 1, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 1, 2014 The shangri-la is closer to the OPT, if all things (price etc) are comparable, I would go with that one.:D
