azcruise Posted August 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2014 Do we get any priority boarding or checking in as Platinum members? Trying to decide how early we should or shouldn't go to pier in HNL for our Pride of America cruise tomorrow. rvsullivan Posted August 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Priority check in, probably. Priority boarding, suites and some VIP's only.
azcruise Posted August 2, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Thanks for the reply. We didn't find anything when we searched. Looks like any level gets "Priority" check in.
herdingdogmom Posted August 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2014 There is a separate check in line for Platinum and Gold too I think. In Honolulu it was to the far left of the check in counter and not too easy to see. For us, the line was much shorter than the general check in line. But that isn't always the case. We usually go to the shortest line. Platinum used to be the shortest, but at some debarkation ports it is platinum and gold, and sometimes silver, so the lines are longer. IWORK2CRUISE Posted August 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Platinum does indeed have priority check-in. However, as someone already posted, that does not mean priority boarding. We usually go early and have not found the wait to be too long. This does somewhat depend on the embarkation location. I only have experience as Platinum in FL. It could be different in Europe. garycarla Posted August 2, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Possible shorter line for paperwork. End of perk.
welove2cruise* Posted August 2, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 2, 2014 We have found the platinum line took longer a few times so just look for the shortest as mentioned. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
azcruise Posted August 2, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Just went through it. Got to pier at 11:45, no line for luggage drop off. Went through security in about 10 minutes. There were about 20 people in front of us, but nobody in the "Priority line for past guests" We were on the ship by 12:20!!! It probably would have only been 15 more without the priority line.
