cruzinlisa Posted August 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2014 Does the salsa bar serve chips with the salsa? Our son was on the Triumph a few months ago and they didn't have any chips! I don't remember seeing them at the salsa bar, but I think I saw there somewhere else on the buffet. I do remember having chips and salsa. Hopefully someone else remembers. losijon Posted August 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2014 This may be a dumb question but why would salsa be served with no chips? That's like serving Cheerios with no milk.... Confused. 😣 ..................................................... Max Circus Posted August 4, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2014 I haven't been on the Conquest, but am familiar with the salsa bar on Breeze. If it is setup the same way, it is several iced containers of different types of salsa (pineapple, hot and chipotle are some that I remember). I also think they had some bottled sauces but may be confusing with Guy's Burgers. :) Location of the chips is escaping me.

Miller_KC Posted August 4, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 4, 2014 This may be a dumb question but why would salsa be served with no chips? I know! And I really looked forward to the Blue Iguana. No chips or hard tortillas of any kind. They had chips and cheese on the old grill where Guys is now, and on the burrito bar on the ships that have them, but not here where they have all of these great Salsa. losijon Posted August 4, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2014 To put on the Mexican food at the Blue Iguana :) I can understand that but like i said chips and salsa would make more sense. ..................................................... kristie64063 Posted August 4, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 4, 2014 Just off Glory, and no chips!! I heard it was because people kept putting their hands in to get the chips, and it was unsanitary... I got a huge bag of tortilla chips on our first day with our Cabana and brought them back to the ship and ate them with the salsa bar offerings. Some yummy stuff there! Loved the black bean salsa... That just seems so weird to me. I guess because I am from California and now live in Arizona. You don't have salsa without chips. ..................................................... ScottsSweetie Posted August 4, 2014 #12 Share Posted August 4, 2014 So, if you are on a ship that has the Guy's Burgers, does that mean that there is no grill area on lido offering the standard burgers, dogs & chicken sandwiches? That is the place where they always had the chips before.

thewrights03 Posted August 5, 2014 #15 Share Posted August 5, 2014 Apparently Carnival didn't like that. The post on Facebook was deleted from their page. Oh well, I tried :-(
tonit964 Posted August 5, 2014 #16 Share Posted August 5, 2014 So I guess it sounds like we need to bring a bag of chips with us! That is a great idea! Just off the Freedom yesterday and the only time they had chips was at one of the late night parties on the lido deck but otherwise no chips! Carnival, put chips out for the salsa bar! tonit964 Posted August 6, 2014 #18 Share Posted August 6, 2014 Can you buy chips on the ship? We went into the gift shop and noticed a can of Pringles potato chips were $5.99. I can get them at my local Ralph's for $1.00. I guess it's worth it if you really want them. nodogkisses Posted August 6, 2014 #19 Share Posted August 6, 2014 When I sailed on the Glory I would frequent the Blue Iguana a lot for the fish tacos. I actually think that the "salsa bar" is for adding garnishes to your tacos and burritos that you get from the Blue Iguana. The bowls with the different sauces and salsas are fairly small and there's quite a variety. I really don't think they're meant for chips. They'd have to constantly be refilling. rudechuck Posted August 6, 2014 #21 Share Posted August 6, 2014 Exactly. Salsa means "sauce" in Spanish. Not "dip".

Jupie Jup Posted August 6, 2014 #23 Share Posted August 6, 2014 Exactly. Salsa means "sauce" in Spanish. Not "dip". If some people order 2 lobsters at dinner I would hope it's ok for me to take some extra salsa for my chips. Buen provecho!
losijon Posted August 6, 2014 #24 Share Posted August 6, 2014 so i'll drizzle the salsa over my chips instead of dipping them....happy? its not like this is a new trend that people are doing...chips and salsa....smdh.
rudechuck Posted August 7, 2014 #25 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I wasn't saying you (or anyone else) shouldn't eat chips and salsa. I like chips and salsa too, especially with a cold beer. I was simply answering the question why they would have a salsa bar without chips.
