Stockholm Transportation

We will be coming off from a cruise at end of August and then fly to Stockholm for more sightseeing. We were planning to take the Arlanda Express from the Arlanda Airport to Stockholm Central Station. However, after reviewing Arlanda Express maintenance schedule, we found out that Arlanda Express will be closed on Aug 30th and won't be reopened till the next day :(.

 

Can someone suggest another way to go to Central Station other than taxi since I heard taxi service is not cheap in Stockholm?

The airport bus is one option.

As this involves track maintenance, the local trains will not run.

 

They will operate the normal bus 538 to Marsta.

They will then have a trains substitution bus to the blue line station of the metro Akalla, bus 36B

If you then choose the blue line into the central station it will be a total travel time of 1 hour and 38 minutes.

 

The airport bus is probably a better option.

I agree with MADflyer, the airport coaches are the best option, especially if you have luggage.

Do you know if the Bus Central Terminal is located closely with the Central Station or not?

The City Terminal/World Trade Center are connected to the Central Station and actually just above the Arlanda Express Train area.
