mjw001 Posted August 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Thinking of flying into FLL since it's cheaper, anyone use the tri-rail before? Looks like FLL to miami is around 4 bucks versus the high taxi fare Sent from my iPhone using Forums
runner15km Posted August 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Take the bus shuttle for around 15.00, located near luggage pick up.
mrswright Posted August 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I haven't tried the rail, but I have tried SAS transportation for $15.00 and they were awesome. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
tbbtravels Posted August 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2014 No, I haven't - but read lots about the SAS. I have a back 2 back planned in Sept and will using them. They pick up from the hotel in Ft Lauderdale and go to Miami.
jewelsncruisn40 Posted August 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2014 I also use SAS transportation from FLL they are great and will pick you up from airport or hotel for $15pp. If you use the rail won"t you still have to get a cab to the port?? If you"re traveling with more than 5 ppl its only $13pp. they only pick up at certain hotels and the list is on their website. Have Fun!!

Looks like FLL to miami is around 4 bucks versus the high taxi fare Sent from my iPhone using Forums About $4 will get you onto a free shuttle from FLL and the train ride to the MIA airport station - leaving you about 7-8+ miles from the port. :( From there you can either take a $25 cab to POM or ride the local metro system for minimal fare to downtown Miami and then take a $12-15 cab to POM. Listen to the advice above and book a shared shuttle for about $15 each - if you have a large group travelling together (4+) a cab may be an economical and convenient option.
mjw001 Posted August 8, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted August 8, 2014 Thank you for the response! There are 6 of us traveling so I think the taxi would work much better or just fly into miami :) Sent from my iPhone using Forums
JohninDC Posted August 8, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 8, 2014 Thank you for the response! There are 6 of us traveling so I think the taxi would work much better or just fly into miami :) Sent from my iPhone using Forums Taxi van should be the same price as a standard cab; I'm not sure 6 plus bags will all fit into a mini-van cab (especially if any in your group packs like my wife! :o) The taxi fare from FLL to POM or downtown Miami hotels is about $80+ on the meter, so comparable or better than any rate you will get from the shuttle companies (if you arrive the day before your sailing -- like a smart cruiser -- the afternoon and evening shuttle rates from FLL to Miami are higher than the $15 rates you'll see straight to the port). If you fly into MIA then the cab fare to either POM or downtown hotles will be about $25+tip.
