mamaboss Posted August 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Looking for a post cruise hotel I came across The Victoria Park Hotel on NE 20th Ave. Sounds good, price good, but I never heard of it nor do I recall seeing it mentioned on any boards. Has anyone stayed here or know of the hotel or area?
BlueHerons Posted August 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Looking for a post cruise hotel I came across The Victoria Park Hotel on NE 20th Ave. Sounds good, price good, but I never heard of it nor do I recall seeing it mentioned on any boards. Has anyone stayed here or know of the hotel or area? Up until two months ago, it was the Shubert Resort which is a gay men's nude resort. Gorgeous place! royalcruz Posted August 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2014 It's about a block to Big Louie's Pizzaria/Italian Tipico Mexican/Cuban Heart Rock Sushi Sukho Thai all in Gateway Plaza. Il Mulino is about 2 blocks away. These are all very moderately priced. There are some stores in the plaza but nothing for everyday items. If you need to go to CVS, It only about 3 blocks away. brunello22 Posted August 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Serafina Italian restaurant is a block away from the hotel and is located on the Middle River (outdoor seating along the water) ... very romantic. It is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. Edited August 8, 2014 by brunello22
BlueHerons Posted August 8, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2014 There are quite a few things in the immediate area or you are a short cab ride away from the Galleria Mall and Trulucks, Capitol Grille, Seasons 52 and PF Changs. That hotel is really retro cool. I expect it will do very well over the next couple of years.
mamaboss Posted August 8, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted August 8, 2014 Thank you everyone. I am used to booking a chain hotel and was a bit nervous. Don't really care what it was, just what it is now. Glad to hear we have a few choices to wheel mom to for lunch and dinner.
