Assigned Dining

If you have traditional early or late dining then you are supposed to be at the MDR at the specific time scheduled for you. There is no strolling in whenever you please as you are assigned a table, and a wait staff and folks expect you to be there in a timely manner.

IF you have Anytime Dining then you come as you please as you would in a restaurant on shore. You cannot switch between the 2 types of dining as that would really screw things up.

You can always eat on the Lido where the buffet areas are located. You can also try to get a res at the extra paid restaurant/s depending on the ship you are using.

You could ask the MD if your waitstaff has room at the late dinner and could let you go then.

I disagree with this suggestion completely. As others have stated the best advice for the OP is be on time for assigned seating or dine at the lido buffet.
