aaahhhcruisin Posted August 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2014 How much do you have to spend to be comped free drinks in the casino? Is it the same for all cruises? BTW---I don't gamble (not that it matters to you) but I'm curious as both of my parents are and always get free drinks!
aaahhhcruisin Posted August 12, 2014 Author #2 Share Posted August 12, 2014 you are kidding me. My mother gets free drinks every time and she only plays slots…so you are telling me she's putting over 3000 in them? Holy mackerel. I'll just stick to buying my drinks. lol
NewtoCruisewKids Posted August 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2014 My mother earned the free card as well, however she only spent about 500 dollars total in the casino. Please remember that even the little wins for a couple of credits get respent in the machine and help rack up the points. Have a great time on the cruise and don't worry about your mother spending your inheritance ;)
mjoymarshall Posted August 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2014 We drink but don't gamble much. What we do is buy drinks at the casino bar and get the five dollar match play. You still have to gamble your own money but hubby and I both doubled our money at blackjack
tbbtravels Posted August 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2014 She is wagering $3,000+, but may not spending that much. Coin-in is how much is wagered, not what you put into the machine. For example, if you were to play a 3-line quarter machine, every time you spin, you wager/have coin-in of $0.75, so for every 3.3 spins, you would receive 1 point. Agree on the $3000.00 as the magic wager amount. I have calculated this before while playing and earning points. In January I had to have 2000 points for the drink card. evergladesgator Posted August 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Do not understand why y'all had to have 2000 points when the offer is 1500 points for free drinks. ????????????????????
mjoymarshall Posted August 13, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Best bet if you drink a lot like us.. Buy Cheers. Get most of your drinks at casino bar. Make sure you get receipts. Take receipts to casino cashier and get match play. We would have at least $100 a night in match play. Once you're up, walk away!! You'll make money.. FlaMilkman Posted August 13, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 13, 2014 When I read the title for this thread, "How much for free drinks in the casino?" all I could think about was "What time is the midnight buffet???" :D
nhraformula00 Posted August 13, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 13, 2014 One year ago on the Freedom my brother-inlaw was playing the Quarter slots and on the third night hit $2,700. He got free drinks for the remainder of the cruise, and a voucher for 20% off a future cruise to be booked in 14 days or less. He had only gambled $200 and was playing for about 2 hours. tbbtravels Posted August 13, 2014 #11 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Do not understand why y'all had to have 2000 points when the offer is 1500 points for free drinks. ???????????????????? Guess it's different ships? Different casino hosts? I played January of this year and I had to have 2000 points. I have been on other ships and it was only 1500. I had a completely free cruise on the Fascination last summer from the casino. I didn't pay parking or fees or anything. I did have to have 1500 points for free casino drinks. Sue Do-Over Posted August 13, 2014 #12 Share Posted August 13, 2014 We sailed last summer (Legend, 2013) in the Med for 2 weeks. Our bounce-back freebie got us on the Glory in January... where the pit supervisor and two dealers were the same guys/gals from the Legend. We had been good tippers, had a great time, and made the table fun... and they remembered us. Drink cards on day 2. Strawberries on day 4, bathrobes on day 6, and another bounce-back offer each before we left. Next week, we're back on the Glory and hope to have those cards pretty quickly. We bet the minimum, but tip consistently (put $1 up next to your bet for the dealer -- it's visible to the supervisor longer), and spend 3-4 hours each day, maybe a little more on sea days. We also tip the bar waitress $1 on the free drinks. It makes everyone happy, and she 'doesn't notice' when an occasional free drink gets handed to the player seated next to me. aaahhhcruisin Posted August 13, 2014 Author #13 Share Posted August 13, 2014 LOL…you all are great. It's very obvious I'm not a gambler, but am glad she probably doesn't drop that much. I've asked her several times how much she loses but she just says she doesn't keep track (sure mom.) I was more just wondering if it's smarter to play and take a chance at winning as well as free drinks. It almost sounds like too much work. I'll leave it to you professionals! AdmiralQ Posted August 13, 2014 #14 Share Posted August 13, 2014 I was on the Glory sometime in April or May and spent 2-3 hours each day playing blackjack. My bets were in the range of $25 to $75 a hand and every day the pit boss would offer to buy me drinks. I turned them down since I had Cheers. They never offered me anything else. I'm on the Elation in 2 days. We'll see if anything else comes my way.

cjankowski Posted August 13, 2014 #18 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Just off the Fantasy last week (5 day) received free drinks & $10 play money with 1000 points. My husband played slots with only like $50 and he won/lost enough to keep going. Was able to get the free drinks card of which the nice guy gave drinks to both of us. I was sitting next to him playing only one machine :) I just wish we would have earned it earlier in the cruise week.
wrigley80 Posted August 13, 2014 #19 Share Posted August 13, 2014 I guess I better stick to my bottomless bubbles card. Once I lose $20.00 in the casino I am done for the week

First of all its none of your buisness , thats what I tell my kids!! and secondly I couldnt tell you how much i spend at the casino either (my hubby probably could) but I have earned us a free drinks card a few times. On our B2B I got it on the first leg and the casino host told me to come back the first day of the second leg and she gave me another one :D hubby and I were both happy. sgttami Posted August 13, 2014 #21 Share Posted August 13, 2014 There is no such thing as FREE DRINKS, FREE CRUISE, FREE WHATEVER! You pay somewhere along the way! I've gotten the free drinks in the casino on my last 3 cruises...some early, some later on.. No, they are not free...! But, it's still fun!!! klfrodo Posted August 13, 2014 #22 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Last cruise on the Magic, I only played slots. I earned the Drinks on Us card about half way through the 8 day cruise. My start amount was about $2000. My end amount was about $2000. My Win/Loss Statement indicated a total of about $15K played. Did leave with a nice little W2G form
PA Dutchman Posted August 13, 2014 #23 Share Posted August 13, 2014 I get a free drink card, almost every cruise for the last 2 years, they have it at the casino desk, don't have to play anything for it.
