voltron1974 Posted August 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2014 I am ready to book port adventures and notice two new excursions with prices pending; "c54 adrib and " c55 deserted". Does anyone have information on these? voltron1974 Posted August 13, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted August 13, 2014 I did, sorry I didn't update the thread. "C55 desert" is a boat ride to a deserted beach close to castaway cay and "c54 adrib" is a snorkeling excursion. Both available oct 12. MizDaisy Posted August 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2014 Guess we'll have to wait until mid October to hear about these. Interesting they'd have an excursion to another island/beach, when their big sell for Castaway Cay is how awesome it is. I'm particularly interested in hearing about a new snorkel tour. The only one they have had all these years is the Seahorse Catamaran, and there are really only two reefs nearby. So it will be interesting to see where this new excursion will go. dexddd Posted August 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2014 One other change they made recently was for the one teens adventure they swapped out the kayaking and put in a fast boat ride.
voltron1974 Posted August 14, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted August 14, 2014 The person I spoke to at DCL indicated the deserted beach includes an hour tour around Abaco on a fast boat and the remaining hour beach time. The snorkeling tour is similar but does not include beach time. I believe the price for the deserted beach is $69. MizDaisy Posted August 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 14, 2014 One of the things I would question is where there IS a "deserted beach" anywhere near Abaco. A boat sail around Abaco isn't anything special, trust me.... been there, done that.
Ex techie Posted August 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) After googling C55 Deserted, Google say's from another board: OK. Finally got home and was able to call DCL again. If any one is interested, the Castaway Cay excursion C54 is an added snorkel adventure - apparently the first offerings are filled. C55 - you board a boat and "sail to a deserted island" and enjoy a deserted beach. Learn about Bahamian history, culture and local lore. Stories include those of pirates, prohibition and life before Columbus. Just a guess on my part, but since there is less than 1/4 of the island used, and on the East side a nice beach area to send dredged sand to, and also a very small island just to the North of Serenity Bay, I very much doubt it would be very far away from CC in case of bad weather and needing to get back to the ship or shelter at the island. ex techie Edited August 15, 2014 by Ex techie
