want2seealaska Posted August 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2014 My daughter and I have booked the 5-Glacier floatplane shore excursion in Juneau. If this excursion is cancelled due to poor weather we would like a back-up plan. I've read in other boards that there are several tour kiosks dockside. Is it reasonable to expect we could pick a replacement tour there such as a shuttle to Mendenhall? We arrive in Juneau at 1:30 if that makes a difference. We already hope to eat at Tracy's and do a little shopping.
Budget Queen Posted August 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2014 The Mendenhall shuttle buses are walk up, so no problem getting a shuttle.
Glaciers Posted August 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Since you arrive Juneau later in the day you should know that the shuttle buses to the glacier stop running about 6pm. There are cabs if needed but you should make note of their phone number in case you need to call one from the glacier.
