Transfer Heathrow-Southamton

Wearing a seatbelt on public coaches is the law in the UK, so you can be sure they'll be on the bus or coach.

We have used the Celebrity transfer from Heathrow to Harwich. very well-organized but very expensive , too.

We took the public National Express coach to Southhampton recently: very fast, comfortable and really CHEAP if you book online. We paid 64 Brit. Pounds for a return ticket for two which is a fraction of what Celebrity takes off you.

I also recommend National Express coach (bus) service. Really efficient and the terminal is right there at the airport.

Here's info from the National Express web site:

We strongly recommend that you bring a child car seat appropriate to your child's age but have to ask you to please take responsibility to fit the seat yourself.

When bringing a child car seat please make sure your child is included on your ticket booking.

Children aged between approximately 4 years and 11 years or up to 150cm tall may use booster

seats, which are provided onboard most coaches along with our comfort fit seat belts.

Has anyone used the Celebrity transfer from Heathrow to Southampton lately?Just wondered if the bus had seatbelts? I'm considering to bring DD's carseat!Thank you!

If you need a private car to drive you to Southampton, look at aquacars.co.uk. We paid GBP75 last November. Shall be using them again later this year...

Thank you all for your replies. We will use the Celebrity Transfer as the convenience of not having to worry about our tons of luggage, and since we do choice air on the same day of the cruise, we just need the peace of mind.

Though it was very expensive. Actually it is 11,25% of the total cruise/airfare/transfer cost. But we did it once in Miami, and we just loved this service.

Guess we will bring the carseat then :)

I have emailed the Scandinavian office and the special needs dept. and look forward to hear if they have half as good answer as you all.

  • 3 weeks later...

If anyone comes accross this thread and wonder: After 4 weeks of emails i have received a positive answer about seatbelts. I will report back after our cruise if there was any trouble!
