lovecruzin Posted August 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2014 We have been offered one of the following cabins on Summit for the Oct 25 cruise at a "reduced" rate... 9061, 9050, 9049. I can't find much info on any of them, except mention of a potential obstruction from a support. We would be doing a b2b and moving from one of the aft A1s to the A2. Can someone provide feedback on any of the cabins listed above as to noise and view? Thanks

We are on one of your cruises and by taking one of the upgrades a member of my party almost lost all of their perks, so needless to say they stayed put. I'm also in one of the Aft A1's on the October 19th cruise. Edited August 14, 2014 by cherylroslyn
lovecruzin Posted August 14, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) Thanks! Looks like we'll be neighbors! We haven't booked the Oct 25 (2nd leg of the b2b yet). We would be able to get the pick your perk with the rate. We've never stayed in a deck 9 Aqua cabin and are concerned about the big difference between the deck 11 aft and deck 9 under the solarium. akowilm Posted August 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2014 If you can't keep the first week's cabin for the second leg, why don't you try something all the way different? Maybe a sweet sixteen or a concierge class? We love Blu but 2 weeks might get old. If you can find a nice cabin for less, use the savings for the specialty restaurants or since the cruise is so port intense, splurge on a great excursion. We found that with these itineraries, we spent little to no time in our cabin (1138). Next year, we will take one of those new OV's on the 3rd deck and save the $$ for fun times! How was it? Thanks June
miched Posted March 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2015 The obstruction is a strut that supports the overhang. It is usually between two cabins by the divider. It really doesn't interfere with anything. Above all of those cabins are the solarium and ASC. You may notice some noise in the early morning when they move the chairs around. Do a search for those cabins in the M class Stickey. Any review for that cqbin number should be the same if it is a M class. The cabin next to it or in the same location should also give a good indication on Waht to expect. Also keep your eye on available cabins as it gets closer to the final payment and after as many will cancel. Also since you are doing a B2B put in a request to be on the waiting list for that aft cabin if it becomes available. Happy cruisng 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌞
miched Posted March 10, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 10, 2015 Thanks! Unless they changed there were no footstools on the balconies of any AQ cabins except for the 5 aft on deck 11 because the balconies aren't really that deep. There is a large overhang that provides protection from the elements on deck 9. The sliding glass doors are old style and you can lock yourself out when on the balcony. The cabins are also a little worn and show it. You will notice some noise from the pool above. The cabins on deck 11 are new but still made in the same design as the others. Except for the aft balconies there is no overhead protection. You are completely exposed to the elements. They also have the newer S class style sliding balcony door.
