Canada Place

Recommended Posts

We are flying into YVR Vancouver BC Airport and boarding a Princess ship at Canada Place. We would like to purchase a couple of sodas (ginger ale) and a couple of bottles of water prior to boarding and heard there is a 7-11 at YVR. Is this true, would we be able to purchase same at the airport (we are flying from Seattle, WA to YVR and assume we would be coming into the International terminal. Or is there a 7-11 or convenience type store and/or a liquor store (do they carry soda?) near Canada Place and/or can items such as this be purchased in the underground mall area inside Canada Place? We are open to any and all suggestions.

Short answer = yes to all of the above!

More detailed:

Yes, there's a 7-11 at the airport - it's in the Domestic terminal so you would have to do a little walking, but probably less than going to either of the options below.

There's a convenience store right at Canada Place, but it's not good value. If you literally mean a couple of bottles, the extra money is probably worth the convenience & lack of walking - but if you mean a couple of cases then you'll save money going to the nearest large pharmacy or supermarket.

Liquor stores don't carry much in the way of soft drinks - a few sodas for mixing perhaps, but again at worse prices than supermarkets etc.

There is a corner store/newsstand type place you can buy water and soda inside the food court across from Canada Place. I don’t think they have anything in bulk but would work for a few bottles.

Thanks, all for the great info. I think the Pharmasave will work out just great for us -- as we will be taking the train to Waterfront station, so it looks like it will be a short 1-1/2 blocks, as there is a Pharmasave on Granville. Great!

Odd - I posted a reply to this late yesterday evening... Hopefully this one sticks:

Flower-z is a florist just a block away (you can probably walk past it en route from Skytrain and Rexall to Canada Place, if you have any hands free with all your stuff by that point!).

Oh, the Pharmasave that still appears as such on Google Streetview is now a Rexall. Just so you don't walk past thinking you're in the wrong spot...

Here's the important part; get out of Skytrain by using the exit marked "Way Out - Granville Street" right on one end of the platform, don't go down the tunnel into the station complex itself. That will put you half a block from the Rexall.
