Excursions Companies Besides Carnival?

We leave for our honeymoon next Sunday. I want to go to Merida and also one of the ruins (have been to Chichen Itza). Can anyone recommend a company besides the Carnivals?

I'm trying to decide between Dzibilchaltun and Uxmal since my fiancee has never been to a Myan ruin. Any thoughts?

:) We booked a tour to Dzibilchaltun at the pier when we docked for $30 a person.

I got that info here at the boards and it worked great. They did not have a company name but were very professional-a/c van, english speaking guide.

When you dock at the pier there are a few stands and theirs is the only tour one there. They threw in a tour of Meridia for an addnl $10. We made a day of it and got back in plenty of time. The shopping is cheaper and easier in Progresso than Meridia. We liked this tour alot!

I thought someone said that you could get cabs to Dzil from the pier? Is this still possible? We're leaving in three weeks and Progresso is the only port that we don't have an excursion booked.

The $30. included the entrance fee AND THE GUIDE--HE TOOK CARE OF PAYING AND COMMUNICATING WITH EVERYONE ALSO. oNLY EXTRA MONEY WAS FOR WATER AND TIP AND SHOPPING. eNJOY
