Luvmyrotti Posted August 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2014 We are thinking of doing the Atlantis submarine in Cozumel. Has anyone done this recently and can share any details?

GoVikes Posted August 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2014 We did the Atlantis submarine in March. We had fun and the kids had a good time trying to identify different fish and waving at the occasional scuba diver. We saw one shark and a bunch of fish. I had thought it may be somewhat claustrophobic on the sub, but it really wasn't. The boat ride to and from the sub was about 15 minutes and time on the sub was probably 50 min or so. The sub went down 118 feet.

GoVikes Posted August 26, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 26, 2014 Thanks for sharing details. How far is it from the docks to the boat that takes you to the sub? It was a very short walk from where the ship is to the dock for the sub's boat--just past all the shops.

Texasopa Posted September 4, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Royal Caribbean doesn't offer this excursion. I know I can contact Atlantis direct and book, but does anyone know if they will be offering this at the pier?
Rare rjm11 Posted September 5, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 5, 2014 we did it about 2 years ago and it was wonderful.... a great way to see more of the reef especially for younger kids, or people who don't snorkel. The cruiseline transport drops you off at the place, there's a short safety briefing, then you board the boat (right there), and drive out to the sub.... you watch the sub surface, and the people from the tour before you get on your boat, and then you get off your boat and onto the sub (requires climbing down a short ladder- they were very helpful with that- we had small kids and they did fine)- you all get a "window" set so no worries there... and you're off. About 50 min underwater, and it is reef the whole time- the sub is stationed right there on the reef. We saw 2 sharks, turtles, a stingray, an eel, and lots of fish. It was really worthwhile. theflight74 Posted November 1, 2014 #10 Share Posted November 1, 2014 Hello GoVikes, You said that it was just a short walk from the Ship to the boat for the submarine. Would it be more than half a mile. Thanks.
Rare rjm11 Posted November 1, 2014 #11 Share Posted November 1, 2014 it depends on which dock.... I think it's closest to the International pier- we were docked at Langosta (NCL) and it was a cab ride from there. I believe there are 3 different docks.
