Anyone rented from Green Jeep Tours in Skagway lately?

If so, how was it? Are the jeeps in decent shape? Can you walk to their location from port? Easy roads to follow? Any off roading available? Final cost?

Looking to rent a vehicle and drive to Emerald lake next June while in Skagway.

Thanks for any info! :)

We rented 2 jeeps (1 4 door and 1 2 door) in late July and it was by far our most fun experience on any ports we took. They give you a guide (it is the Murray's Guide) that will inform you of everything you are seeing on Klondike Hwy. The jeeps were in relatively good shape and the staff was absolutely awesome. It will be money well spent.

Two notes:

1) the business is hard to find --> it is in the Popcorn emporium right on Broadway. There is not really a sign for GJT out front, but if you find the popcorn place you are in the right spot.

2) It is a bit of a hike from the ship dock (especially if you are in the far dock where Radiance normally docks) so be prepared for a about a 15 minute walk. Otherwise you can take the tram that goes into town from the dock, but make sure you get there early because it seems that the good jeeps are distributed first . We were there at 815 and snagged the first 2 jeeps.

Would you say, 4 people could be squashed in the back seat? I have a friend who is out of options next month and they have 6 people. They have not gotten any response from Green Jeep? the jeeps, too me, don't look that big and I though they were more like a 4 seater total?

in the 4 door you might could squash 4 in the back seat, but it would be tight. However, the 2 door it is tight with 2 people in the back seat. We had 7 with one of the 7 being a 4 year old in a car seat and had one of the 4 door jeeps with 4 people total and a 2 door jeep with 2 adults and a 4 year old in the car seat in the back. With 6 people I would probably rent 2 jeeps.
