funinthesun1964 Posted August 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2014 I tried them once and found them to be dry. Sorry. Maybe it was just an isolated incident.

springs741 Posted August 21, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 21, 2014 Just go to your room and order chocolate cake..... By far best dessert carnival offers! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app I agree. The best desserts, IMHO, are the room service chocolate cake and the room service cheesecake. I find the Lido desserts are dry and tasteless. SummerXU Posted August 21, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 21, 2014 Cake is my favorite food in the world but I have to agree with the others. The cake pop I had on Miracle in May was so undercooked it was almost mushy. :( Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
ccruisequeen Posted August 21, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 21, 2014 Only lido dessert that I like is the chocolate chip cookie.
funinthesun1964 Posted August 21, 2014 #11 Share Posted August 21, 2014 If you happen to go to tea time (on sea days), you can get some yummy chocolate cake there. This is the same chocolate cake from room service. DH can't resist. Room service cake:

cruise_girl2002 Posted August 22, 2014 #13 Share Posted August 22, 2014 I never had one on carnival, but I have had them in my crew meal while flying. They are ok, but, I would rather have actual cake.

bhanback Posted August 23, 2014 #18 Share Posted August 23, 2014 Do they do a creme brule? Creme brûlée has, as recently as last October, always been offered as a dessert on the first nights menu. I still see it listed on the "old" (not American Table) seven day menus as day one.
cruise pup Posted August 23, 2014 #19 Share Posted August 23, 2014 I'm off sugar (with a blood glucose level of 72 I'm not about to upset the cart) so I only have the no sugar added desserts and ice cream. Except for that disgusting pumpkin pie, they have all been consistently excellent in the mdr and the lido buffet. They even have one (and only one out of the tons set out) at the Chocolate Extravaganza but happily it's a good one. I have to work at only having a single serving, they're that good. Well, to the true desserties out there, you are probably ready to wash out my mouth with tiramisu for uttering such heresy, but I'm sticking to what I say.:D
luvstocruzok Posted August 23, 2014 #20 Share Posted August 23, 2014 The main dining room desserts were very good. Creme brûlée, baked alaska, cheesecake, bread pudding, chocolate melting cake were all delicious. Unfortunately, the buffet desserts were tasteless including the cake pops. We paid 2.25 for a very large piece of cake in the coffee bar by the casino and it was wonderful! Sent from my iPad using Forums
bury me at sea Posted August 23, 2014 #21 Share Posted August 23, 2014 I never found a dessert at the buffet to be worthy of a second bite. Obviously I would prefer fewer selections with more taste. I enjoyed every dessert in the dining room, some more than others. The weakest was the Grand Marnier souffle. Other than that I left few bites on the plate. Matter of taste. momof3cruisers Posted August 24, 2014 #22 Share Posted August 24, 2014 Creme brûlée has, as recently as last October, always been offered as a dessert on the first nights menu. I still see it listed on the "old" (not American Table) seven day menus as day one. Do they have it on the Lido that night or the next? I LOVE creme brûlée and am not above bringing it back to my room to save in the fridge.
luvstocruzok Posted August 24, 2014 #23 Share Posted August 24, 2014 I believe it's only served in main dining room. It was a very large portion and was wonderful. Sent from my iPad using Forums
