bcnvcanada Posted March 10, 2015 #26 Share Posted March 10, 2015 We checked the B.C Transit, and found that bus 75 is not running. We will be in Victoria from early morning to midnight. What is a way to get out to the gardens. We do not wish to drive, or take a taxi? Thanks for your help

Thanks for your help Odd - I would double-check on that bus because it's showing as operating normally when I check the transit website, with the exception of the southbound route only departing at 9:05am. All other times of day, and all northbound routes, it does stop at the gardens - my guess is that there is simply no demand to LEAVE the gardens at 9am so they've amended the route to save driving in and out of Butchart on this trip... If the bus is indeed out of service, without driving or taxis your realistic options consist of taking a coach tour with a local provider or the cruiseline. CVS runs coaches from outside the Fairmont Empress, which is about 20 minutes walk from Ogden point where the cruise ships dock, for $58pp including entry to the gardens. This is almost certainly going to be less than your cruiseline will charge, though they will have the coach right outside the ship.

From the cruise terminal exit onto the street (don't cross the street), board a #31 or #30 bus that goes by and get a transfer ticket. Get off at Royal Oak and change to a #75 bus which goes straight to the gardens. it's not super fast, but it's probably as quick as getting downtown to grab the tour bus that goes there, and it's a lot cheaper at $2.50 Full schedule for the #75 http://bctransit.com/victoria/schedules/route-overview?route=75 Some of the #75 (in the morning and afternoon rush) actually start all the way downtown, along side the parliament buildings on Government Street, about a 15 min walk from Ogden Pt Pier, but the other option #30/31 followed by #75 @ Royal Oak works all the time.
