Favorite lunch spot embarkation day?

Our FIRST trip is to whatever bar is overlooking the pool to grab a cocktail and relax for a minute, WE ARE ON VACATION!! Tradition on every ship.

 

Cagney's if in a Suite, can't go wrong with a nice shrimp cocktail.

 

If not a Suite than a quick trip to Buffet to grab anything and get out to explore if we have not been on the ship before.

Pool deck, same with us. Grab a drink, some food from the pool deck area grill, sit back, people watch, relax...and the vacation has begun. Do it every time.

Went on the Breakaway in May & had lunch at Savor shortly after boarding. Less hustle & bustle than the garden cafe.

 

And I also enjoyed going to the uptown grill during the week. Had some different choices that the garden cafe and typically quiet up there! :-) And I love sitting outside and eating while cruising.

It's liquid lunch at the nearest bar for me.

We're heading out on Norwegian Breakaway this weekend, and wondered: What's your favorite lunch spot -- and why is it your pick -- on day of embarkation on any Norwegian ship?

Most likely you'll have VIP status on the Breakaway. We met a nice young lady when the Pearl was brand new. She wrote a travel column for a website and had VIP upgrades the entire cruise.

 

If that's the case, you'll be escorted to the VIP lounge and the concierge will fill you in on the luncheon options.

They are fussier about doling out VIP on the new ships as it's automatic Haven access.

when we sail on breakaway it is always o'sheehans for lunch on the first day. then off to find our cabin.

I vote for Taste or Savour on the Getaway - which ever is open on embarkation day (they are essentially the same). We enjoyed a lovely lunch there when we embarked in January.

 

The highlight of my meal was a delicious crab and beetroot salad.

 

O'sheehans was our go to spot for late munchies, hmmmm those buffalo wings were good!

We just loved Flamingo Grill on the Getaway!

 

It is kind of tucked away so it was fairly empty and very peaceful. It's open air with comfortable seating and an amazing view of the million dollar homes on Palm Island!

 

The food is really cool too. Cuban food but not anything that even a picky eater would not like. The rice pudding and tres leches cake were fab!

 

We're boarding her for round two (this time with our boys) on Sept 6 and we've decided that once we have Vibe passes in hand, we're off to Flamingo grill again!
