You can tell them what kind of seating arrangement you want when you show up for dinner.

Always ask for a table just for two when you show up at the dining room. They will always give it to you, but be prepared for a short wait during peak times when all tables for two might be occupied.

 

Also, I've noticed on some ships that they position the tables for two SO close to one another that it's like you're sitting at the same table as those next to you anyways. It's super uncomfortable because you can hear each other's conversations and sometimes others feel the need to join your conversation, super rude.

They seat only your party, unless you request otherwise. If you ask to be seated with others, you may find that others don't want company.

We have always been asked what our preference is each night when we showed up for our reservation. Some nights we felt social and sat with others, other nights we were antisocial and enjoyed a two top.

Our experience has been there have always been plenty of tables for 2 in MTD - in fact, we always seemed to get the same table/waiters. Enjoy!
