GradUT Posted August 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2014 We will be cruising on the Emerald Princess in December and are considering one of these two tours to the above-mentioned Mayan ruins. Have you taken either or both of these excursions with Princess? I am interested in knowing: 1) whether the time at the ruins was sufficient to see everything and to climb the ruins (which we will want to do). 2) whether there is any time to explore the ruins on your own 3) whether there is shopping time and, if so, how much? (We don't like shopping.) Any other comments on these Princess excursions would be appreciated. Thanks!
KristyM79 Posted August 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2014 I took the Lamanai excursion through Royal Caribbean, not Princess, but generally they are the same. I did climb the ruins, which was wonderful. Not much time to wonder around yourself. Not much time for shopping either. I think there may have been a few minutes to buy a Belizean beer, but that's about it.

JimAOk1945 Posted August 31, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2014 We also went on a Lamanai Shore Excursion which we booked through Royal Caribbean on our Christmas cruise in Dec 2011. We enjoyed it very much. You might be interested in seeing a slide show my wife made for her website with some of the pictures she took. Belize ~ Lamanai Shore Excursion Cruising is a great way to see amazing sites that you might never see otherwise!
KristyM79 Posted August 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2014 Thank you for sharing the slide show. We lost our pictures from this cruise due to a computer virus and it was before Facebook. I always enjoy seeing pics from Lamanai as it was one of my favorite excursions ever.

JHU Posted September 7, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 7, 2014 Glad to be of help. You will enjoy it. Jim: Your wife's photos convinced me that my decision to take the Lamanai tour (Celebrity Equinox) in November is the right decision. Loved Tulum and will love seeing Lamanai. :)
